I thought (S)Cam Newton played in the SEC. Hell he won the Heisman playing in that "DEfense First" league
re: Has MU had best run of QB's since the late 90's/2000's?

They were above average, with Chase Daniel making a Heisman run.
As with every fan group, we tend to see ourt own as a little better than reality.
Daniel was a rock on third down. In 07 the Tiggers lost to ONE team. Had the O-coordinater not gotten cute in the red zone TWICE, we'd have played for the mythical national championship. But that was not the question.
Very good to Excellent QBs. Gabbert would have been better if he'd had Maclin or Coffman. His best receivers were an injured Danario Alexander and a talented, but young T.J. Moe.
All got look in the NFL, but most were college QBs with something missing keeping them out of an NFL huddle.

It won't really matter unless one of them win something important, which I don't see happening. The Big XII press (read: Texas, OU) thinks MU and A & M are middling football schools, now and forever.
If one or the other wins ten games the Big XII will grudgingly admit that MAYBE they were a quality member of the Big XII; while some others will use it as a chance to compare and contrast the relative strength of each conference.
I don't give a damn what the Big XII or the Big XII beat writers think, do or say. I am just happy to be away from the texicans. MY dream was always to go back to a STRONG Big 8, WITHOUT a team from the sage brush state; but TV makes conferences and that will never happen.
I'm glad to be a member of the SEC. I am a bit nervous, but overall glad to be here.
