You can also say the same for Utah, Nebraska, Colorado, and WVU. All of them had it rough the first years in a new conference. aTm is the only team that tore it up.

I think aTm's easy transition to the SEC has also contributed to Mizzou feeling left out

Remember, Mizzou was supposed to be a darkhorse contender in the SECe for football and they were supposed to add some legitimacy to the dumpsterfire that is SEC Basketball (Kentucky & UF excluded)

I haven't been on here in awhile. I have noticed that many of your posters have been dropping like flys though. Its like they don't know what to do with themselves without my soothing presence

Oops, sorry I won't bring that up. Trying to be nice to our yankee guests

You really think it was EASY? Just because we were successful in football does not mean the transition was easy by any means. Basketball has taken a nose dive. Baseball is outclassed. Even the Bill Byrne specials (non-revenue sports) are facing much tougher competition than they ever did in the Big 12.

Also, 50,000 students < 87,000 seats. The extra 37,000+ have to come from somewhere.

That's actually kind of funny. Our student populations compared to stadium capacity equal the same number of seats.

I guess it comes down to excitement over the program.

Ours is pretty low right now.

Football is the main sport most want to be good at. I'd rather be good in football over basketball/baseball combined.

to come out of rant mode for a second. The majority of Mizzou posters come from a place where their team sucked for a good portion of their lifetime.

This place is fricking brutal for most Mizzou posters. I don't expect we'll see many newbies stick around for long.

Add in the admins banning every mizzou poster for any implication of a troll and allowing every troll against Mizzou to continue for page upon page, and it's a recipe for few Mizzou posters telling this place to frick itself.

It is what it is.

Also it's the "slow" season for SEC rant. They'll be back closer to football season. I see quite a few posting on the more sports board or other boards.

The reason we were successful in football is that the coaching staff turned a Big 12 finesse team into a faster meaner version of itself. They toughened the team up.

They made the air raid offense a "smash mouth" offense.

I go through phases and take breaks.

It really does get tiring taking it from all angles at all times, though.

I honestly feel sorry for Mizzou fan. There's not one school, possibly one fan, that wants them in the SEC. They don't fit in culturally, and they are clearly sub-par in athletics. That is not their fanbase's fault.
I hope there's some way they can get into the Big 10 and be happy.

At least people are talking about Mizzou even if it's bad.lol. Hell nobody mentions Vandy even when they're doing good. That'd suck.

Mississippi State fans take a beating. Don't know why, they are good in baseball, great fan base in football, nice stadium, etc.

I think this is where you guys are missing out.

SEC Brotherhood isnt about picking your brother up when he needs a hand it's about kicking him in the balls when he's down (see Bama pre-Saban).

That being said, I dont know that fans from the other conferences know or care as much about the other schools they compete against as SEC fans do. The better SEC fans know just as much about their rivals and conference mates as they do about their own team.

IMO, this is what make the SEC great

I always wondered how things would have turned out if Texas a&m was in the Big 12. I've heard you guys wouldn't have Sumlin, etc. But damn just think you could be BCS champs.

Ok, I'll help you out

Good things about Missouri:

Got Interstate 49 built before Arkansas
Shelter Gardens are pretty nice
Sophia's in CoMo is a nice restaurant
MoDot loves roundabouts and diverging diamonds interchanges
This gas station in Lamar, MO had a cool popcorn vending machine once

You're right. Take baseball, for example. I bet your average LSU/Arkansas/Ole Miss baseball fans can tell you about several past players for the other team in past years. Strengths, weaknesses, big plays, etc. Fans are engaged in the SEC like nowhere else. Football is crazy. Savvy, knowledgeable fans who care. Otherwise, its not as fun. And its all about having fun.

You don't get better by playing scrubs.

A&M doesn't rape Oklahoma in their primary recruiting area both on and off the field if they don't toughen up playing Florida, LSU, and Alabama first.
