We didn’t play in LR last year but I’m guessing you didn’t watch the game.

Sorry Fayetteville, and yes unfortunately I did watch the game. As a Tiger season ticket holder, I'll be watching this year's game as well.

not sure what that has to do with anything moving forward since both schools have new coaches

Well, I'm not sure it does either, but I see a lot of posts that seem to be confident of a Hog win based on last year's results so if that matters I thought I'd add a little history. W/r/t coaches, we both had the same coaches in 2020 as in 2021, but I'm guessing you did not watch the 2020 game.

Y’all won by a FG with time expiring in 2020 and we smashed you last year… I think Arkansas has the momentum here.

What are the expectations for this season?

Unambiguously quantifiable improvement (8 or more wins).

.500 season and the fanbase will move from being mostly supportive to neutral or even slightly not supportive.

He seems to be a gimmicky guy, kind of like chad morris but with more nerd vibe...

It is odd to see Mizzou with the past testosterone of Pinkel and Odom settle for such a whimply dude...

Maybe he is but with something resembling just a top 50 defense the last two years, he'd be one of the hottest names in the SEC right now.

We were the worst D in the country last year for almost the entire season. People thinking we should assume a loss to every team we lost to last year in close games may be in for a surprise. If the defense makes reasonable strides, Mizzou should easily leapfrog a few teams in the SECE.

I love seeing Arkansas fans try to compare Morris and Drink.

6 is most likely, but if we can steal a win from Kentucky, Tennessee or Arkansas, thats how we would get to 7. Which i kind of expect to shock one of those teams. Most likely it would be Tennessee.

Yep, the team that's made you look like an FCS squad the last two years is the most likely to lose to you.

These guys are being nice to y'all. Mizzou is about to get run through thoroughly. No defense, same predictable offense, and you lost your biggest playmaker in Badie, who you absolutely wasted, save for one game against a Florida team who had given up. The main goal should be keeping Burden from transferring and getting Sam Horn as many reps as humanly possible, then maybe Drink can save his job in 23.

Yes I watched the 2020 game.

You beat us by 1 with KJ starting his first game ever and our AA safety out for the game.

Congrats but last year was a beat down. Didn’t get in the Endzone until the last 2 minutes with us in prevent

Well both are bad HCs that had some recruiting success.

I mean Drink admitted he isn’t comfortable with the SEC. That’s not a good sign

I think we'll get to 8 wins this year. He had one of the best recruiting classes in the history of our football program. That being said, regardless of where we land in the W/L column, I will support him. I like the guy and think he is building a good program.

On a side note : I really do appreciate all of these Arkansas fans and their interest in Mizzou sports. You guys beat us in one of our worse years of football, congratulations. I imagine we'll return to making you our bitch before too long.

Wonderful! Now that we've established that I watched the 2021 game and you watched the 2020 game we can move on.

but not sure what that has to do with anything moving forward

I thought you were the one suggesting we forget about history or does a previous year's win always guarantee a subsequent year's win in your opinion?

Me? I like the anticipation of a new game. I don't know the outcome of the 2022 contest yet but I'm excited to see the game!

Out of context. Here's the quote:

quote:

“I don’t feel ‘comfortable,’ meaning there’s always challenges and you know the difficulty, but I don’t feel the anxiousness in my stomach like, ‘can we measure up? Can we match up?'” Drinkwitz told Finebaum. “I know what we’re getting into and I know the fight I’m walking into every week.

“The reality of it is, since the last time they had these meetings, there are only four coaches still here from 2019. It’s a tough league made for tough people. You have to measure up. As competitors, you want to meet that challenge.”

Do you really think Pittman would feel that the SEC is not challenging or difficult or that it is not a tough league for tough people? That would sound like complacency to me an that indeed would not be a "good sign".

You really should not engage with him. His arguments are often very weak. He'll be the first to say that was in the past and due to Morris, Bielema, or Petrino ... but then he'll say "What about last year?!" He is an odd duck.

Pittman has been around the SEC. He wouldn’t say he’s not comfortable with the SEC grind but we also have one of the hardest schedules each year from playing in the West

The SECW is a grind no doubt.

The SECE is bad minus UGA

I’ll say Bert and Chad we’re bad coaches.

Never said you can’t compare the current coaches at their schools. You can.

Going back several coaches doesn’t mean a thing
