I don't care how politically correct it is... I will NEVER support the gay lifestyle because IT IS WRONG!
I don't think gay people give a shite if you "support" their lifestyle.
Acceptance would make life easier for everyone, gay and straight.
When you accept that there are gay men and women out there who deserve to live their lives without fear of people who think they are "wrong", you will realize that it's not your place to decide wether or not someone's personal choices, which have no effect on you personally, are right or wrong.

You're welcome to your opinion but it isn't ignorant to theorize that the rise of Christianity contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire. There's a wealth of scholarship on the topic. 100% of it, it appears, that you're unfamiliar with.
Please give the title. I'd like to make fun of it because it's laughable given the wealth of chroniclers on the subject of Roman history.
BTW, scholarship? Is that like Diederik Stapel's scholarship work? Or ISU's AIDS vaccine test results? Or the University of East Anglia's climate research?
Are you talking about The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon in England in 1776? If that's the case, find something else to use because his work does not make the cut.

It was a joke, I promise. Maybe just a bad one.
People have a hard time understanding what is a joke and not a joke when it comes from a Arkansas fan.

Those who openly denigrate and push for discrimination vs Homosexuals will in the future be looked upon like the bigots of our racial history. Funny many racist tried to use religion to justify their hatred just like those who hate gays do today.
And here, in my opinion, is the rub. The question isn't whether or not you "support" his gay lifestyle. It's whether you believe he should be penalized by society for that lifestyle. That's what makes someone a bigot.
Michael Sam is courageous because he has taken a huge risk. Yes, it was forced on him - one only needs to read the disgusting Burwell article in the Post Dispatch this morning to see that the media was chomping at the bit to break this story. But instead of letting the story be told by some hack with a jones for ratings, he decided to tell it himself and let the chips fall where they may. That is bravery, IMO.
Sam is living his life in a way true to himself, and any sin he's committing is no less or greater than any other. No one has to like it. But he should be treated no differently than anyone else, especially with regard to his talent and profession. If his sin is a problem for people fine - they should treat him the same as they would any other sinner. Or they are a bigot.
ETA - and no, I don't buy the "pedophilia and homosexuality are the same" argument. Pedophilia preys on the vulnerable who aren't capable of making a rational, adult decision. Pedophilia is inherently a practice between one person with more power and one with less; it creates victims. Homosexuality between two consenting adults may be considered a sin by some, but gay people are not preying on children.

The most interesting perspective on the fall of Rome that I've seen/heard is the Dan Carlin series "Death Throes Of The Republic." Look at episodes 32-39.
Definitely worth a listen, and 15 bucks.

Dude, did you not see the posts comparing homosexuality to beastiality or pedophilia?
I have read enough in this thread to know that there are people in it not educated past what they are taught currently in school and through TV.
Not a single person in this thread (that I have seen) knows anything about the current science nor the history of the movement, YET they act as if they do!
Using JUST this example, You sir ARE 100% WRONG and you don't even know it.
It is EXACTLY like that according to Johns Hopkins, Harvard, B4u-Act, GLSEN, and many many more.

Where is he going to shower? Seperatly? Wouldn't that seperate some guys in the locker rooms? Inb4bigotshoweringcomment, it would be the same as men showering with women, which is also frowned upon.
