Ok. So what? If he smokes a joint and someone threatens a rumor, will he hold a press conference admitting to that as well? Again.. it's narcissism and "look at me".

C'mon hunter. You are not trying to equate the public's view towards homosexuality with smoking a joint are you?

You said he did it to control the narrative. If he didn't want it out, he could have said no comment. As it is, he made an effort to get it out and let it be known. He made a narcissistic decision to purposely point out his sexual orientation. If it's not a big deal to him, then why even address it or comment on it?

No. I just look at the scenario and don't see why someone who is about to enter a profession who is historically anti gay would come out as some leverage as he is about to enter the league. there is a reason why this hasn't happened before

No. I'm equating his decision to narcissism, instead of that of "trying to control the narrative".

Maybe that's why, before today, the SEC Defensive player of the year wasn't expected to go until the second half of the draft

declaring affords him some measure of protection from this horribly kept secret. No one in their right mind would harrass him now.

It also sets him up for tremendous marketing opportunities in the future.

Didn't he out himself to his team already? Suddenly he's got a need to not be shamed about it and has to go out nationally to "set the record straight"? He's still gay, either way, is he not?

He just anointed himself gay NFL Jesus. Don't want to give him a pay increase? Anti gay. Complain about his play after a game? Anti gay. Personal foul called on someone for something they do to him? Anti gay.

You're such an immature turd. Of course he did it to control the narrative. And since he was really gay.. then there wasn't harm, now was there? Oh no.. I have to stop these rumors that I'm gay! By telling everyone I'm gay. The horrorrrrrrrrrrrrrs! Stupid arse.

yes. Because he wasn't going to be public outed by the media when he told his team. Now he was, so he was going to tell it himself rather than let someone else do it for him
