The most memorable day of that whole period for me was when Deaton gave a press conference to announce the progress the B12 was making and the Jackass president from OU schedules a press conference at the exact same time announcing OU will not be a wallflower in conf realignment. That was the last straw.
Very happy day for me and a lot of Mizzou fans. We were hoping for an Sec invite by then.

Just one Missouri story. We went to Harpos after one of our baseball games in Columbia in 2005 because I'd heard it was "the bar" in town. As I walked in, someone said something to me that I couldn't make out. I kept going in, and the door guy grabbed my arm. I wasn't trying to be an a-hole by walking past him. I was 33 years old and didn't realize he was a door guy. I don't go to college bars here and wasn't used to them (door guys).
Anyway, when the guy saw my drivers license, he apologized profusely. The rest of the night, he came up to me every few minutes and got my next drink when I was ready for it.

Welcome to Missouri!

And RocketBallz...your name disturbs me a bit for some reason. But you're right, when that asshat interrupted the Big 12 conference press conference with one of his own to talk about OU's interests, that was just classic. A microcosm of the entire cluster frick that is conference bevo.

Anyway, welcome new Mizzou poster!

The most surprising thing of the entire realignment saga is how OU somehow ended up being able to perform fellatio and sodomy on the Longhorns simultaneously.

Oh, it's primarily Arkansas. They are the #1 target. He has a new sig pic, or you wouldn't nee to ask. The others are just equal opportunity trolling.

OU's problem is that OSU is their ball and chain. Literally. They are politically connected and must be in the same conference. OU could go to the SEC or the PAC if they wanted - but no one wants to take OSU with them, there's just not enough upside. So, for the foreseeable future, they might as well be surgically attached to Texas.

I think this is over stated to a great degree. I know several OSU and OU fans that insist the connection is more voluntary than anything else. They love Bedlam and have no desire to do anything to risk that; this leads to there never really being a challenge to the theory.
The belief on both sides is that if there was a desire to go their different ways (i.e. OU to SEC and OSU to PAC) then it could be done.
Remember when this all started there was a large group of people that were under the impression that the Texas legislature would attempt to block A&M from moving in some manner as well.

juff,
Just go along with what I post. As terrible as some of my posts are, later you may come to realize that you and I are on the same team.
However, if you end up being like Ball Gravy or another A&M poster who I shall not mention...then we'll never see eye to eye and you'll become a target by all of my alters.

Kills knows what to say to get people rattled. If you realize he is just being funny and kind of playing a character on here you won't hate him.
We showed tamu and Mizzou don't hate each other.
But enough of this brofest in here, Mizzou is gonna make it 3 in a row at Kyle on Mizzou Day.

OU and OK State are absolutely tied together. During all of the realignment stuff last year, I was reading the Oklahoman online every day.
OU was on their way out the door. Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Scott told them that they and OK State together had the votes. Texas flew an emergency contingent to Norman on a Sunday to beg them to stay and were told thanks but no thanks. OU president David Boren took some pretty nasty shots at the Big 12 when this was going on. Hell, DeLoss Dodds talked to the Pac 12, Big Ten, and ACC at this point (none of whom would take them AND the LHN).
The only problem is that when they actually counted the votes, too many Pac 12 presidents didn't think OK State to be "academically worthy" of their conference. They were voted down, and David Boren and Larry Scott were left with egg on their faces.
This is when all of the talk of committing television money to the conference started. Also around this time OU people also started pushing the idea that they were going to start their own LHN. If it hasn't worked for a school in a state with 25+ million people, how the hell will it work in Oklahoma with 3.5 million?
