I've been on the Rant longer than you and I've always stood by this statement. The fact the Ozarks overlaps into Arkansas makes it southern, we annexed that shite anyway.

Dude, we have a good portion of our state that is called Little Dixie.. and that isn't even in the Ozarks, which is very much a southern culture.
