My honest thoughts are that it was a contract negotiations dispute and Cohen just decided to part ways since Vann never finished higher than 10th in the conference and consistently finished 11-13th. Ecspecially after the softball stadium she wanted got finished and nothing changed.
And it wasn't like she went into a regional and beat other non SEC teams either. State is the only SEC team to never win a Regional

Don't pass the smell test. You don't fire a coach two months after the season and a few days later hire the assistant. Hearing it's inappropriate behavior.
