I don't get why people try to talk them up for. Last season was their year to make a big splash and failed. History isn't on their side either.

2010 best wins: Memphis, Georgia (5-7), Alcorn State, Houston, Florida (8-5), UAB, Kentucky (6-7), Ole Miss (5-7), and Michigan (7-6).

2011 best wins: Memphis, Louisiana Tech, UAB, Kentucky (5-7), UT - Martin, Wake Forest ( bowl opponent ).

2012 best wins: Jackson State, Auburn (3-9), Troy, South Alabama, Kentucky (2-10), Tennessee (5-7), Middle Tennessee, Arkansas (4-8), and lost to Northwestern 34-20 in their bowl game.

2013 best wins: Alcorn State, Troy Trojans, Bowling Green, Kentucky (2-10), Arkansas (3-9), Ole Miss (8-5), and played Rice in their bowl game.

2014 best wins: Southern Mississippi, UAB , South Alabama, LSU (8-5), Texas A&M (8-5), Auburn (8-5), Kentucky (5-7), Arkansas (7-6), UT-Martin, and Vanderbilt (3-9).

Only team they beat that had over 9 wins was Bowling Green

Yeah, good luck in 2015.

They will be better than LSU and maybe the Barn this year. Arky will win the West and state will compete with OM and Bama for second.

they had a good season pretty much for the first time ever. unprecedented in msu football history. i guess i would be happy about it too but i do get your point. we will see if they were just a flash in the pan or if their program is ready to do that year in and year out with the big boys in the west...bama auburn and lsu are the big boys by the way. same goes for ole miss' season last year. theyre both in the same boat. i tend to believe that ole miss has more going for them as far as building a more successful program that can compete with the big 3 in the west.

So how do they explain the fact that particular strategy hasn't worked for them in years despite the entire fanbase pitching in?

OM fans have thought that too. For as long as I've been alive.
