It's clear Milroe was the limiting factor on those last few Saban Bama teams.

He was an amazing athlete who could do a lot of great stuff, but he also had inexplicable bad games and when bad Milroe showed up you were going to lose no matter who you were playing.

I've posted this here ad nauseum, but Lane was on the phone recruiting for FAU during our CFP practices.

In the subsequent Washington game he was signaling-in plays that didn't exist because he forgot to install them the previous week, and the players on the field didn't know what to do.

Thus, Kiffin really left Saban with no choice, because he wasn't actually coaching the team.

I guess I am in the minority here in believing Saban and Deboer started the guy they believed gave Alabama the best chance to win.

I was wrong, but I still believe he is an elite athlete and has made some show stopping plays.
