I couldn't believe we were content to play for OT, especially with how horrible our kicking game had been all night.

Good point. At the same time, I think Saban wasn't going to let another big mistake happen and LSU create a turnover in y'alls territory. I would have at least given it a shot. Saban had a few questionable calls tonight. Great game either way.

Can't remember how many times tonight I said out loud "what the hell is Saban doing".

I'm glad you are realizing what some like Finebaum and others in the national media haven't learned yet. Saban is not God. Saban didn't come down from mount Olympus. No, Saban can't simply will his team to victory. Saban is a very good coach, but his weakness has always been to play it too close to the vest in tight games and rely
on his defendes to win for him. Sometimes that can come back to bite you.

Well its easy to play arm chair coach. If one more kick is good the names are reversed. Maybe Im crazy but if your senior says he good to field a punt after he has already come back in and had a big play running with the ball, why not give him the chance. The freshman returner probably has the same thing happen to him. And then everybody would say why wasnt Maze in there, he did good on the screen play earlier.

Bama has the ball and the game is tied with a minute left aaand that gets squandered. Kind of an anti climatic ending, but congrats to lsu. It was a good time

I think the head scratcher was 4th and 1 or 2 from midfield after a 19 yard gain (I think, was sitting at the opposite end of the field). At least try to draw LSU offsides. It appeared he conceded overtime at that point...

pissed me off more than anything else about saban. cost us games we never should have lost. UT was far too close to bama in the NCG with a green QB. bama should have won that game by 40 after mccoy went down.

I have wanted this for years. Saban is an awesome recruiter. He is also an awesome defensive master of the game.

I still think we need to get McElwain out and get some fresh offense in there but that is just my opinion.

I don't know...I love the way he mixes in screens and wheel routes...also the way he shifts to get the defense to re-align. Seems like he goes a little brain dead in the red zone though.

what fresh offense will you get though? Saban will always want a ground N pound offense with a game manager QB. how will a new OC change any of that?

When you have the talent and depth that LSU and Bama do there's no excuse for someone who can't plant on his ankle to be fielding punts.

I knew Sheally was going to miss that FG. I knew Foster wasn't going to make a 50+ yarder after the first quarter.

I also knew which side was INTO the wind. Why in the hell do you choose to play INTO the wind in overtime with a questionable kicker? Why do you decide to run out the clock instead of trying to mount a scoring drive with 1:30 left and a TO. From what I saw all game long we didn't have much trouble moving the ball between the 30's.

Agree. All of these are very valid points. Saban coached a strange game.

It's a timing route. Which QB do you trust to throw it? After seeing JL not scan the field and just throw it up not him, and lets be honest JJ will never be a timing route QB.

I was very impressed with Bama's defense. I thought Lee would play better...but once he threw a pick...it was over. Jefferson is horrible..but he can run the ball and thus we had the speed option and some success running the ball. Still; I was very happy with our D. In fact...I would give then game ball to Tommy Moffit, our strength coach. We were wearing Bama down and not getting tired. The best moment of the night for me was the look in Urban Myer's eyes when he talked about the LSU D. He said he stood on the sidelines and looked at our players...and after watching them play...we were the best defense he had ever seen...that was the 2nd win of the night.
