This brings to point a very important message. We joke and jab at one another on this site constantly. I will cheer as hard against LSU when they play Bama, as I do against Ole Miss, Tenn, or Auburn (well maybe not that hard), but you only have so much time on this world and most of us tend to forget that most of the crap we spew here is about a game, that means nothing in the long run. Here is a big magnificent creature that brings alot of folks who disagree on things together. That big playful kitty cat could rip you to shreds, yet most of us would love an opportunity to just pet him or sit quietly with him for a few minutes and wonder in his majesty. Like the song says, "its not what you take with you when you go, but what you leave behind", and for Mike, it looks like he will be leaving lots of great memories. It is sad to see him go, and I weep for my LSU brothers and sisters in your loss. Rest assured that Mike touched many people's hearts across our conference. Today we are all Tiger fans.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

In honor of Mike, it's time TAMU returned to her roots and adopt a mutt as Reveille. No more collies. Do it for tradition. For Mike.

I am actually 100% with you on that one, Sao. Rev 1 was a stray mutt some cadets found on the road from Navasota.

Took this picture several years ago on a visit to Mike. He jumped into the water and started playing at the glass with me. I've since been able to take my sons to see him, and he did much the same with him.
RIP you big goofy cat

This thread is making me teary eyed -- not even ashamed to admit it.
I'm gonna miss Mike VI. He was so playful and charismatic. For those who had the opportunity to see him play in person, his energy and playful personality were nothing short of infectious. You got the overwhelming feeling watching him interact with fans that he truly loved them and loved his time playing with them. I think he knew what he meant to so many and loved sharing and basking in it.
His combination of personality and beauty are going to be a very, very hard act to follow.
RIP Mike VI. All of Tiger nation and beyond will miss you dearly.

You Aggies may be a bizarre bunch but if any fanbase can understand what a live mascot means to a university its you folks.
Run free Mike VI.
