His off the wall rants are popular with everyone except people that want to know something about the team.
I think he goes OT just to bait and switch you so he won't tell you shite about injuries, game plan, who is doing well etc...
Even the damn clearing of the throat is on purpose so people get distracted. I am told he never clears his throat except during press conferences.
As long as he is winning, state fans will love him and when he stops winning, the rest will be entertained.

As a colorful character, he's the best.
As a coach, never get too high or too low on him. Throughout his entire career, he'll put together a big win or two and look like he's building something special only for his team to have a couple clunkers. And then just when they're looking dead and buried, they'll have a big upset. Making definitive pronouncement one way or another about his teams' seasons based on a good or bad start is Fool's gold.

This is the narrative everyone has said. What they have always missed is that he did it in places that no one else wanted with less talent. Of course he is going to run into teams that simply have too much talent and kick his butt or the offense stinks because it's based on lots of precision by lots of guys.
Thing is, he has elevated team wins, talent and expectations everywhere he has ever been.
Give him a place that gets 5 stars and he might be unbeatable.

His Press Conference for this week. First question was from a female reporter.
"What have you seen in Rogers improvement on the deep ball vs the dink and dunk"
Response. "Well the term 'dink and dunk' says more about the person asking the question or using that term than it does about the air raid really. The whole NFL doesn't seem to think it's dink and dunk.... But as far as the deep ball..."

He’s always dealt with programs that are not traditional winners. And he’s made winners out of them. I wonder what the guy would do if he had the natural advantages of a Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Florida. The dude can flat out couch.

The only bad thing about Mike Leach at Mississippi State is that he was hired after Jack Cristil passed.
Those two together would've been absolutely unbelievable.
