if you could still sign 28 he might be worth the shot. since you can only sign 25, much better off going with a kid straight out of HS instead of taking a shot with a kid that hasn't played in 3 or 4 years.

His dad said he was willing to pay his own way to Bama if he had to.

25-rule got nothing to do with it if he is paying his own way. It wouldn't count against the 25/year limit.

Y'all should just go ahead and add him to the 20 other walk-ons who have scholarships now.

There is a good chance he's just as deserving as Rick and Bubba's kid.

I assume he will be immediately eligible.. Although, special teams would be about all you could expect..

Sounds like he has enrolled at AU, but not part of the team yet. I assume he will take his classes this Fall and be eligible this Spring.
