Say all you want but Johnson is a second fiddle hire considering bama was willing to pay someone close to $5,000,000 a year.

Which would have been ridiculously overpaid which is another reason I'm glad that we got AJ instead.

Well clearly not, seeing as how we just hired someone worth a damn.

And I can tell that you know it isn't a bad hire because you getting really defensive about it.

Also, give me some of the rosters that Erik and David have worked with. Argurably, Avery had less talent.

I'm way more excited about Avery Johnson than Marshall. Agree it's a better hire.

Right..

I think its a better hire as well. AJ is a much more compelling story and will identify with recruits and parents.

Congrats on hiring Texas' sloppy seconds!

So one guy doesn't have NBA teams knocking down his door just like the other guy doesn't have NFL teams knocking down his door to be their next coach?

Just admit you are mad as frick and move on dude.

I'm not defensive in the slightest. I think it's hysterical that bama fans would take Johnson over Marshall. It's funny because Johnson has no resume and no recruiting background yet it's a good hire. The man was a stereotypical NBA coach who got his job based on nothing other than basketball knowledge and knowing people.

Better than grant? Yes

What bama wanted and should have gotten for the money they were willing to spend? Hell no.

Marshall is a proven college coach with the scheme that would have fit bamas current roster. Johnson is a second fiddle hire.

Gruden has been out of a NFL job for almost a decade yet many people on this board think he would be a savior for their program.

So Johnson has turned down numerous coaching offers ?

Why would I be mad?

Y'all just hired a bust NBA coach with no experience

I'm ecstatic

Bc I post on the SECr and enjoy informing people that their excitement is misplaced. It's a meh hire at best.

Says the guy with an avatar pic of a player who can't win shite unless he has at least one other superstar on the team with him to win a title.

I enjoy informing people that their "meh" is misplaced.

So there's that.

Don't worry about him. He boasted for a solid month that Alabama couldn't beat LSU in the 2011 title game with their slow, fat LBers.

He's been mad as frick ever since.

We will see how he recruits. That's where it starts, as you know.

And you didn't inform me of anything. I pay attention. This hire is a desperate one that came after Texas and Tennessee had better hires. Y'all rushed it in fear of UF and UK coming open. Plain and simple.

Well, I was going to throw in my 2 cents, but I think you've got this covered.

Add State. It was a decent hire, but the worst of the 3 made in conference.
