other way around.

Les is a terrible coach. Saban is a great coach.

Saban really has... I never would have thought all those recruiting championships, 5-star after 5-star recruits only to bust in the NFL.

Are you saying that he didn't beat Clemson?

Canada was the only OC up for the Broyles award last year

He carved up the national champions. Also the only coach in the SEC that beat them (looking at you USCe, Gumps and AU)

He turned Nathan Peterman and Jacoby Brisset into NFL draft picks

He doesn't run a predictable power eye scheme.

Well this millenium were at the top of the Sec and have won a few championships. Lsu is far from MOR. Everyone's knows Bama is good. It's the teams like Lsu and auburn among others that carry the conference so the strength of our conference stays solid. That actually helps if any sec team is fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the year vs other teams. We need the Sec to stay strong so be sure to pull for Lsu when we not playing Bama. Lol.

like beating Clemson

Saban is 2-1 vs. Clemson while at Bama. Those two title games were just really good games. We split them 1-1. We need a rubber match this year.

First off, we're hard for any offensive coordinator that appears to have half a brain. Pitt went from averaging 28 ppg to 41 ppg in one season with Canada (from 68th to 10th in the nation). That's a gigantic difference and it was their best scoring offense ever. They beat Clemson and the Big 10 champ, Penn State, and posted 40+ on both of them.

NC state went from 42nd in scoring offense to 75th after firing Canada and averaged over six points less per game (a huge drop). They had just signed him to a three-year contract the season before that, so his firing was a real head scratcher because the offense averaged 30+ ppg and had the 5th highest total offense in school history. Maybe it was a personality thing?

When he was at Northern Illinois his offenses did very well and they ended up ranked 12th one year. Even at Indiana, he helped them get to a bowl with a school record for points scored. So his offenses have been successful.

It's early to say how he'll do at LSU, but I'll be shocked if LSU isn't much harder to defend on offense against tough teams with the talent at LSU and the fact that he likes to disguise all of his play calls.

Nathan peterman at Pittsburgh

Using Peterman as an example will give false hope. He was a solid 4* out of hs. Chaney probably is due more credit, and Canada just deserves credit for not messing him up.

Coaches gain experience over the years, learn from other great coaches and even learn from their mistakes. As long as they are progressing, better opportunities will present themselves. Matt Canada did that at Pitt.

Yeah but member when Cam Cameron was totes the GOAT OC ever according to LSU fans?

People like to give Auburn shite about over hyping QBs, but LSU fans are even worse when it comes to coordinators.

Cam Cameron was nominated for the Broyles in his first season as LSU OC in 2013.

How'd that hire turn out?

Shows that 2013 was a fluke and that the offense relied on two NFL starting wide receivers, NFL starting guard, NFL starting tackle/guard, NFL starting RB, and a bunch of other guys still in the league (Blue, Hilliard, Magee). Cam Cameron's track record was before 2013 shite and is shite in 2017. The Ravens fired him as OC and then won a super bowl. The guy was a waste of space on the coaching staff.

Canada is a proven commodity and has already revamped the LSU offense. All he has to be is not Cam Cameron and better than Steve Ensminger and we're good.

Here ya go. Matt Canada is highly thought of in the coaching circle. His offense is known to give teams that have more talent than his fits regardless. fricking Pitt beat clemson last year at their place...let me say that again, PITT beat CLEMSON (national champion) last year at clemson. Given his success at a program like pitt, where he didnt have half the talent that LSU has and was probably handcuffed from creating plays he would like to use due to their talent, he should do very well at LSU. He didn't even use but maybe 20% of his playbook against byu, that's how effective his offense was, against a pretty good defense.

He is very highly touted amongst coaches...
