If anyone needed further proof that the NCAA were a bunch of jackasses they need look no further.

Five days before your first game? Oh yeah. Your starting QB isn't eligible. Sucks to be you.

His off-the-field issues have nothing to do with the transfer rules. Nowhere in the rules does it mention that you can only transfer if you have no off-the-field issues, or if you're in good standing with you're previous school. The NCAA is just making their decisions based on their opinions of who should and shouldn't be allowed to play and not based on what the rules actually say

As stated above, WTF does his past have to do with the rules? Or the timing of the ruling?

If they didn't want him to be able to play again, they should have said something 4 months ago. NOT FIVE DAYS BEFORE KICKOFF.

If the appeal is denied, does Masoli stay and study parks and rec for a year and play next year? Or does he go play in canada or some other crappy league?

Agree, but the rule says nothing about it. If that was the case, they would have denied him long ago. I'm ok with his denial, just don't see how they all of the sudden can throw that in there. They wanted him there for academic reasons, and his program is a 1 year program. From what I understand, past history wasn't in the rule. Oh well...

and , in this case, they're actually doing the right thing. masoli was basically bastardizing the rules set in place so he wouldn't have to serve a suspension. that isn't right in and of itself.

The NCAA sets their own rules, anyway. And their interpretation of them is all that matters. We should all just revolt and start some new association.

The SEC govern itself? Hell, we all know who would benefit from that
