LSU would've remained #1 in the computers because of SOS and their impressive wins over Oregon, Arky, and Georgia would've have them enough human votes to get in. Stop playing the "ESPN hates LSU" card.

LSU would not have played UGA.

I am not trying to play the LSU card I am saying that the Alabama name and Saban carry much more weight in general in the media and amongst fans out of the region.

While you definitely won Nov. 5th, I don't think they were exactly incorrect in saying that Bama probably should've won that game, especially given what happened on Jan. 9th.

If I wanted to go that route I could pull out the Bama 2009 Sugar Bowl excuse.

Our offensive staff and personnel were disinterested in the game because of our previous season accomplishments.

Two separate games, venues, and outcomes.

Actually I was more upset in this thread with a stupid embarrassing segment of the LSU fanbase.

I think LSU would have been awarded a rematch if we lost 9-6 in Bama on Nov 5th. The SOS would have been undeniable and I think LSU would have won 21-0 on Jan 9th had that happened. Too bad we'll never know.

Well, it certainly carried enough weight in '07 with a 2 loss team.

Which would be apples and oranges. Bama was not playing for the NC when they lost in the Sugar Bowl.

They weren't interested in winning a championship and completing the best season in LSU history?

I would have ripped that float to shreds had I been in attendance.

I find it funny that the people who are the most angry and insulted by this float are LSU's most redneck fans.

But they lost in the NC game, which is what everyone plays for

If they wanted to, the poll voters could manipulate their ballots in such a way as to put a 7-5 team in the NC game, and that team could, in turn, have a great night and pull off the upset. But it still wouldn't make them legitimate national champions because it would be bullshite that they were playing in the game to start with. Same goes for Alabama. Like most of their claimed national titles, the 2011 one is bullshite.

And the clearly most deserving #2 among the contenders that year. There wasn't anyone else out there that had accomplished more than we had. Alabama 2011 can't say that.

I suppose 21-0 is just a figment of our collective imaginations?

You are not very cognizant of your fellow LSU fans' opinions on LSU sports. I think the float is dumb and is a slap in the face to the program. I personally would not consider the people that made the floats real fans.

I'm very cognizant of my fellow LSU fans' opinions on LSU sports. I'm an LSU grad, a lot of my friends are, and I've been a season ticket holder since the mid-80's.

If that float upsets you then I really feel sorry for you, because you have no clue how to look in the mirror and laugh at yourself.

That's what that krewe does, they make fun of people that take themselves too seriously. My cousin, who rides in that krewe is an LSU grad, season ticket holder, and big-time LSU fan.

You could say Alabama hadn't even accomplished much while LSU had already beaten the top contender and won their conference.

It was more a joke about Alabama's lame excuse for losing to Utah's shitty mid major program at the time.

I was embarrassed LSU's offense did not show up in the NCG. I do not feel Bama caught LSU's best effort as it looked obvious they didn't put in their usual preparation for a big game on offense. With proper preparation that I have come to expect from LSU in big games I felt the game would have been better. Alabama played great that night so I am not confident in saying LSU's best effort imaginable would have won that game.

Bama was a great team this past year.

It still won't change the fact that LSU was also a great team and in a year like last believe LSU should be proud of what they accomplished.

Wow! Just wow! That is one of Alabama's titles that is 100% legit. Bama played and won by the BCS rules, the same rules that all the BCS teams, including LSU, have agreed to.

You are just so butthurt. Get help man, get over it. LSU will win again one day. It's not the end of the world. There, there it'll be ok....

It only upsets me as there is a segment of the LSU fan base that actually believes this shite and constantly brings negativity to the team. Maybe the float creators actually aren't part of this segment, but I don't think it helps the perception of our program at times when we have ridiculous "fans" so unappreciative of our program and school.

I agree that Alabama is the National Champions and it is legit.

I do think it was a bad precedent they set this year. This is completely in USC's favor in helping them jump possibly more deserving teams to play the SEC champion in the NCG.
