We had two freshman QBs, and many new starters that year. Expectations were very low that year and was deemed a "rebuilding" year by a lot.
Ainge looked like the second coming of Manning, we beat our big 3 rivals(bammer,UF,UGA), won the East, Riggs and Houston went wild, made it a game vs you guys in the third quarter of the title game, SMASHED Texas Atm in the Cotton Bowl.
It wasn't a championship year, but it sure was fun.

+1. They have been coming out of the damn woodwork since january. No disrepect to the true Bama fans but it is hilarious from an outsider's point of view to see the Bama Bandwagoners.

Same thing happened with Auburn in 04. Granted they didn't win the NC but I started seeing Auburn stickers and stuff everywhere here...a place normally overrun with UGA fans.

All I said was I'm a happy Bama fan every year. But, winning makes it more fun.
Even in the "down" years I knew Bama would get back to where it belongs.
the down years just get you more excited about the up years. Not sure you would understand, but hey, I tried to explain

2004 Auburn was one of the best teams I've ever seen. If you compare the 2004 auburn team to the 2007 LSU, 2009 Bama, or 2005 Texas, you'd wonder why Auburn does not have a NC from that team.
