rummy, no one disagrees with that, but malzahn puts up gaudy offensive numbers everywhere he's been, regardless of the personnel.

If Texas wants him, they'll get him.

If AU ends up paying Gus 1.5+ then they should just go ahead and fire chiz and make him the HC

And where is Todd at this year?

Also:

Bodean, not saying Gus isn't good - just saying he's not the main reason for AU's success this year.

He's worth any amount of money we throw at him.

If Texas gets Gus, they'll be paying him an asinine amount of money. Probably in the range of 1.5 million.

I hope like hell he goes but I agree with the AU fans that say while UT may be able to pay more than AU, I don't think UT will make the dumb decision to pay him 7 figures, knowing he would bolt for a HC job next season.

That kind of turnover would hurt UT more.

And I don't know that he would even take another OC job - he wants a HC job.

What AU fans should be worried about is that the Miami search has gone very quiet - could they be waiting out the NC game?

I don't know where Todd is right now, that was the point. He sucks.

Nobody is going to dispute that Newton took the offense to an elite level, but Malzahn is a fantastic coach regardless.

He can't bring Cam with him so how will he help Texas. GM was a fluke this year that got lucky because they bought a freak.

I partially agree with this. Cam Newton made him look like a genius. He should test the market and take what he can right now while he's a hot commodity IMO

Auburn never loses a bidding war, ask Miss State.

blee dat

People are going to read the first comment and jump all over me

"Texas will always win bidding wars"

But the only way they win this one is by paying Malzahn like 1.5 million.

Seriously?

Of course the man wants to become a HC. I don't think stating the obvious needs a link.

That's what I was thinking. It's just about common knowledge at this point.

Texas has plenty of money left over this year since they don't have the expense of a bowl game.
