Hasn't hurt the SEC (or ACC) yet.
All the other dumbass conferences chose to go to 9 games.

Can we play A&M twice? It is such fun owning such a large fanbase.

Wait, there are posters on here actually stating a preference for 8 conference games instead of 9??? Am I getting this right? You'd rather watch your team play Western Carolina or The Citadel over playing an SEC foe?

Most years my team plays 2 P5 teams OOC and always has a neutral sight game. I’d rather not have years with more games away from Sanford than at Sanford. Play more than one decent OOC a year, and do it as home/home and then talk to me.
Nothing stopping your team from scheduling better.

As a Clemson grad, I wouldn’t mind scheduling a 3rd SEC team every season... no need for a 9th ACC game... lol

It's too bad Clemson and Georgia don't play anymore.

I would prefer 9 SEC games every year PLUS play only FBS teams PLUS no divisions.

As many have pointed out on here, WHY is it pretty much LSU the ONLY group for no divisions?
But for 9 games no divisions, you have to have some kind of plan/format to balance 14 teams evenly.

Sure.
But it's so chickenshit to not see some of your own conference members for six years at a time.

We need a commissioner of college football to standardize all this shite

The SEC already has the hardest average strength of schedule of any conference. No team that plays a 9 game conference schedule has ever won a national championship. Ever. In the history of the game. Adopting the same stupid schedule would only harm the SEC the same way it has the weak conferences.
Anyone advocating this for any other reason than to eliminate more SEC (easily the best conference) teams from playoff contention is just parroting something stupid.
The PAC12 and Big12 went to 9 games during a time when they had ten members. It made sense to them to do a round robin. The B1G did it solely because their TV contract was up for renegotiation and they wanted to bring extra inventory to the table. It has been a mistake for every single one of them. Look at which conferences are routinely left out of the playoffs.
All conferences are not created equal, and until they are, using a system adopted by inferior idiots is stupid. If you really want to play conference teams more often, just eliminate the permanent cross division rivals.

Makes sense. Cuts down on one directional school weekend and adds excitement for fans and players. Not to mention cash. And conference competition.

Why?
Because other conferences suck and an extra loss for half the SEC is dumb when a 2 loss SEC team will never be treated better than a 1 loss team from a P5 conference. I’d rather mandate two P5 OOC games than go to 9 conference games.
