Why is it so hard for lsu fans to grasp this?

Why is it so hard for State fans to grasp that he "willingly" threw a pitch behind the man's head ? No matter how "close" to Katz' head it was OR NOT, Cohen TOLD his pitcher to ACTUALLY throw a pitch BEHIND A BATTER'S HEAD ???????

And Cohen would have just sat like a statue if Mainieri had ordered his pitcher to do the same I suppose ??????????????

You left out the part WHERE the pitch was a foot AWAY from HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you watch the video you can clearly tell the ball slipped out of his hand.

Just to play devil's advocate, I can go along with that I guess, but the part about him being (supposedly) TOLD to make that pitch is kinda scary.
And maybe Mainieri's angle and line of sight from where he was sitting made it LOOK like the pitch was closer to his head than it was. Maybe that's why he wanted an ejection.
In truth of course it was not in danger of hitting Katz and had it been closer, Katz 'probably' could have ducked or gotten out of the way.
But WHY even THROW a pitch like that ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It slipped. I'm one of the ball boys for the team and I was having a wank before I got called over to bring new balls to the ump. Got lube all over the things

Why does it matter if it was behind him? Seriously it doesn't matter.

It would be way more dangerous to try and place it high and inside to scare him than throw it a foot behind him.

By throwing it behind him, all it did was clearly send the message and cause head trauma amongst the LSU faithful. But in reality, it was less risky than a brushback pitch on the inside.

Not a bad post. I sorta see your logic here.
And if the pitch did in fact 'slip' a little bit, then I can give him the benefit of the doubt.
But if he 'meant' to throw actually behind the body of the batter, he and Cohen HAD to know this might be a little um...confrontational?

And again, Mainieri might have overreacted in wanting an ejection simply because the angle from where he saw it might have made it seem like it was closer to his head. Or not. Don't know.

But I'm sure Cohen might have made at least A LITTLE protest had an LSU pitcher done the same thing.

To be fair, Graveman didn't come close to doing the same thing the rest of the game. And he pitched a hell of a game.

FWIW I'm very close with a few members of the baseball staff. Cohen didn't say shite to him about throwing at him. Graveman had given up some hits in the previous innings and was pissed off. I think a few of the players may have mentioned something to him about it, and at this point he was pissed off and just went ahead and did it. But it had nothing to do with Cohen. I think it was just somewhat understood.

But after that he struck his arse out
