What's stupid about it?

Pryor's stats in Ohio State's two losses:

USC: 11/25, 177 yards, 0 touchdowns, 1 INT

Purdue: 17/31, 221, 1 touchdown, 2 INT, sacked 5 times

It's not like Ohio State sucked despite Terrelle Pryor playing his arse off.

How am I dumb?

Okay, I'll give you the part where I said Texas was up 14-0, that was me mixing other games with each other, and I'm really not sure where I got that. People mix things up some times, get over it.

My other statement was that Greg McElroy plays for a better team than Pryor plays for, which is a fact.

It's a frickin team sport. Not a single QB in the entire country had a better D behind him. You can point out Pryor's less than stellar stats in two losses, but McElroy had much worse stats in games that his team still managed to win.

So the argument for Ohio State is that they return a worse QB (statistically), a worse running game, and a worse defense than Bama?

Sounds logical.

(( Going strictly from last year, of course...who knows how anyone will perform this year? ))

Most would disagree ... but then you've seen the thread
quote:

a worse running game, and a worse defense than Bama
and play in a worse conference. Something to be said for that when discussing who would be more likely to make the NC game.

(FYI - I hate Mack Brown)

Spurrier called Mack and Watson Brown the "Lose Brothers" for a reason.

McElroy has better stats, a better record, and a national title...yet because of Alabama's defense and the players surrounding him, he doesn't deserve any credit for being a better QB.

Everyone makes fun of Julio Jones. Maze and Hanks are two WR who are hardly ever mentioned. Yet right now, for the sake of this argument, you guys are saying McElroy is surrounded by more talent.

Let me ask you this..if Bama didn't have Ingram or Richardson(so their running game struggled without their star backs), how would McElroy do if he pretty much HAD to pass the ball?

He would be a slightly better version of Jarrett Lee.

Is that the scenario for OSU? Did they have no backs and it was all on Pryor?

If not, then I'd say this is a stupid scenario...

If you cannot answer question presented to you, insert same question for opposite scenario to diverge the attention from the question you cannot/do not want to answer.

Like he did in that final drive against Auburn where he led the team down field? Or the numerous deep balls that he placed perfectly? Plus, he'd still have Eddie Lacy. Don't punish Alabama or McElroy just because you claim Ohio State has less talent. They've had just as many solid classes the past 4-5 years as Alabama has. If they don't have the players to surround Pryor and it hurts his stats, that's their fault.

That's a stupid fricking question because that's just not the case. You can do "what-ifs" with anything, but the bottom line is that "what-ifs" don't mean shite. If you are using "what-ifs" in your argument then you really have already lost.

I'm not saying he isn't a better QB, I just think the overall win-loss argument is a dumb one. FWIW, I think Pryor is way overrated, and at this point in time McElroy probably is the better QB

You must be a retard. i can't answer the question...nobody can, because its a dream sequence.

Okay here we go, I'll answer it for you...

Gmac would pass for 5,550 yards and 79 TDs, win the Unitas and Heisman awards, and be the first player chosen in the NFL draft.

Happy? You must be...I "answered" your dream sequence...its as valid as any other answer you're going to get.

My point is this, gumps..

Had McElroy not had such an absolutely incredible D to rely on, as well as a stellar rushing attack where he didn't really have to throw the ball, then i think he would be in trouble.

He does not have to throw the ball all that much, and he hasn't since he's taken over as the quarterback at Bama. I am just saying that I think Pryor is the better passer, overall a better athlete at the position. Does he have teh smarts/know the offense as well as McElroy? Maybe not, i do not know.

My whole original point was that there was nothing wrong with what Mack said. Maybe he just believes that Pryor will have a better season and sees him as potentially being a more talented quarterback than McElroy?? You guys seem to dismiss this scenario automatically, because you just want a reason to start pointing fingers..

I'd have to agree with him on one of his predictions..that OSU will make it to the title game before Alabama..It's not OSU's fault Bama plays in a tougher conference and has a tougher schedule, but such is the nature of the layout of college football

I was talking about that when they were saying Greg McElroy is a better QB than Terrell Pryor, so I said McElroy has a better team to help him out.

And yet he has more passing yards than Pryor

EDIT: lets not forget, this was McElroy's first year at Alabama as a starter. Pryor saw a considerable amount of more playing time prior to 2009.
