That's not what he said. He said "one of the worst franchises in NFL history". That is objectively not true - unless we are doing like LSU fans love to do and pick a random year to begin a timeline to frame an argument. Also, the Bengals didn't begin playing until 1968, so it's not like those division titles are spread out all the way to the 30s.

Of course, it is somewhat subjective to say “one of the worst.” That is a matter of opinion. But factually, they were in the bottom 5-6 of all teams in win percentage all time in the NFL and had not won a playoff game in three decades. I would consider that one of the worst franchises in the league before his arrival.
