As one of those jackass 49er fans, I couldn't agree more. I've never seen more hatred or disrespect for a QB that just had the season Mac did. All the Niner groups I follow are filled with people who believe he was never pressured or threw a pass beyond the LOS. He also had nothing but future NFL hall of fame skill players to throw to while Justin Fields was throwing to waterboys and 4th stringers.

Everyone seems to believe a mobile QB is the only option when the least mobile QB in NFL history just won ANOTHER super bowl. It's frustrating.

This makes me hope San Francisco takes Fields, just so those dumbass fans have to suffer for it. Fields is a bust.

Great quote from a great man. However, Gene never met Irons Puppet. He's a coaching/GM/QB GENIUS. Andy Reid should step down and give his job to Irons Puppet.

Just remember when he said this he was talking about us Bama fans. I used to get so mad when Jay Barker would just tuck the ball and eat a sack. My Dad was watching a game with me and started laughing at me cussing CGS and his uber conservtaive offense. I finally asked him what was so funny. He said, "I used to say the same things about Bear Bryant."

Because no one outside of your shite hole state views his “season” as legitimate!

Except for Shannahan, the only San Fran man whose opinion matters.

Uh, please stop wishing this on my team. I do encounter fans who actually see why Jones is potentially the guy and have watched more than a 2 minute highlight video of his entire career at Bama.

For your sake, they better not take Fields. He'll set the 49ers back 3-5 years.

I take great pleasure in knowing that you’ve (likely) bookmarked a gif on your local library’s computer just for responses to Wild Bill

All these idiots claiming Mac will suck in the pros haven’t watched a single minute of film on him.

He side stepped pressures, threw under pressure, got hit on multiple throws and still threw dime after dime.

He’s legit and there’s nothing that is going to change that.

Absolutely right. Any highlight video from 2020 will show Mac hitting receivers with a defensive lineman or a blitzing CB in his face and getting drilled as he released. Elite pocket awareness and movement. It’s easy to miss because it’s subtle and people are so enamored with flashy athletes at QB running all over the place. That skill is overrated at QB, especially in the NFL. It’s still a passing league, I don’t care what you say.

One where he never gets pressured, his receivers are better than almost every DB they face, and his RB is one of the best in the league.

All of those describe Burrow in college and 2 of the three describe burrow in the NFL.

Totally different QB under pressure. He will get pressured in the NFL.

Yeah, so I'm gonna go with Shannahan's evaluation here over yours.

Unless you have some inside info.

Burrow was pressured quite a bit in college, not sure what you were watching.

Kinda reminds me of the evaluation scouts gave of a certain QB who went #199 overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. What was his name again...?

Funny how these average kids develop because they have the BRAINS (like Mac and Burrow) and these can't miss guys fall because they make bad decisions and don't completely understand the game. The guys who have the freakish physical skills and understand the game at the highest level (Russell Wilson, Mahomes etc) don't come along too often. How many mistakes did Mac Jones make? That's how you become a top pick,-fundamental skills, ball placement, accuracy, moving the chains, etc.

You mean sorta like LSU a couple of years ago. By the way, he will be throwing to NFL receivers, and have a NFL back.
