Given the recruiting disadvantage they have at Tennessee that can't be overcome by television anymore, I don't see Tennessee being that great again in my lifetime. I'm not trying to flame Vol fans, that's my honest opinion.
I tend to agree - I don't see them fully recovering even going through a variety of crazy scenarios. A couple of bad coaching decisions can doom a program that does not have very many natural or unshakeable advantages. Tennessee has the name, the tradition and a very large stadium.
As an example, 3 bad coaching changes won't change the fact that Florida is still physically located in Gainesville - that fact alone is an almost insurmountable advantage over about 90 FBS teams, in the long haul.
Thus far, we've tried a slew of coaches from different backgrounds over the years and, save a brief period, by pure dumb luck found the 1 guy who couldn't at least coach .500 ball at LSU, we're still LSU.

Wow.
Are you a fan, or a coach?
You stated your opinion that 'you saw'.
If you are a fan, that is a fan-based opinion. I'm sorry if the logic there is too hard for you to follow.
Maybe you should've gone to Auburn.

Again, this is a thread that was made for arguing history. Not this 1 season. But thanks for reverting to true form when you get owned.
Yes, it was. However, you somehow felt the need to denigrate LSU when discussing LSU's history. That tells me you are scared.
No one is saying that LSU's history is better than Alabama's, but for some reason you seem to want to put LSU down there with MSU and Kentucky. That's just ignorant and makes you look like you're just grasping for stuff to make yourself feel better.

Alabama fans have been after a rematch since the clock ran out. I wouldn't call that fear when someone is charging at you.
And if you walk past a graveyard in the middle of the night while whistling, you must not be scared, right?
It's alright, no one's going to pass Bama up for 'bestest of all times' this season, LSU is just going to pound the dogshit out of your team on its way to an unprecedented 3rd BCS title.

FSU is a great job IMO but if they are a better job than LSU it isn't by much.
What exactly are you basing the attractiveness of the FSU job? Their ability to pay the coach? A softer conference schedule than the SEC?
Unrelated but Doak Walker does not hold a candle to Tiger Stadium as far as fan spirit, noise, etc.

Yeah, the Archer hire resulted in 12 mediocre to bad seasons for LSU. For that reason, the program may never promote from within again. Too much $$$$ on the line.

The fact is that you shouldn't even be in this discussion.
You obviously are ignorant of your own conference's history, but also this discussion should be between UT, UGA, UF, AU and LSU fans.
That you would lower yourself to join in, simply to put down LSU, exposes your insecurity.
Don't worry, it won't hurt too bad losing to such an inferior program such as LSU TWICE in one season.

Because of history, UF sucked it up big time until the 90's, you are way behind in bowls, wins, all americans..................................
I will give you the bowls.....Aub has gone 21-12-2 while UF is 19-19. But We are even in wins. Aub is 710-400-47 in 119 seasons (average of 6-3) and UF is 662-379-40 in 104 seasons (average of 6-4)
I'm also not sure where you got your All-American information from. The Consensus All-American List currently has Auburn at 26 (24 players) and UF at 30 (28 players) LINK

Princeton and Yale are powerhouses with this argument
Which is it, are we talking HISTORY or just recent history? Either way, you're just tardastically wrong. Perhaps you should take a cue from the fact that none of your fellow Alabama fans are here defending you.

LSU just doesn't have UT's history yet. I would say us and UGA are on the same level, with Auburn right below. For the LSU-UGA pissing match, it really depends on what stats you find significant.
Currently we are neck and neck with UGA. We have more NCs they have more SECs and winning % is essentially equal. Assuming what the thread was started (we win the SEC and NC this year) then we are without a doubt ahead of UGA. Only 1 less SEC champion ship and 2/3 more legitimate NCs.

You are a fool if you dont think before Saban LSU was a top 15 program historically. In the 2000s we have been easily top 5 possibly the number 1 program over that time period which gets us top 10 all time.

To be an Academic AA in Nebraska, all you have to do is spell you name correctly.

LSU & Tennessee are neck and neck for second behind Bama.
After next year...we'll defininitely pass them for a clear 2nd.
