Because we own the head to head record against them, we have 2 more NC's, more top 10 finishes, more top 20 finishes, and more major bowl appearances.
They have more overall bowl appearances but they are an older school with more years of football played.

Why is everyone putting Aub over UF?
Aub has one less SEC championship and the same number of MNC's

Just be careful that LSU doesn't turn out to be the new Miami. Miami ruled CFB in the 80's and won a shite ton of games. They came out of no where with no real tradition at all. Now, almost non-existent.
I think we'll be ok as long as Tulane, ULL, LaTech, or SLU don't become major powerhouses

Because of history, UF sucked it up big time until the 90's, you are way behind in bowls, wins, all americans..................................

Wow
LSU was 11th in wins all time when we hired Archer in 88 so GTFO with this no tradition foolishness. Miami isn't even close to comparable.

Agreed, and I agree no matter where LSU is/was on the win chart. LSU has currently and in the past 10 fold more tradition than miami

I've got an idea, how about we determine the pecking order adjusted for chronic-NCAA-cheating coaches?

Wow. Butthurt. Must have hit a nerve.
Alabama, OU, USC, Penn State, Notre Dame, Texas. Those are some examples of Tier 1 programs. LSU is STILL not anywhere close. Just Johnny-come-lately.
Curious, what was LSU's record vs. Alabama BEFORE Saban went to LSU?

I could understand OU, USC, PENN Stare, ND and bama, but Texas is just as Johnny come lately as LSU. They hadn't won shite in decades till 04-09.

True, but for some reason they have that "mystique." Plus money and major influence.
Edit: If you can understand ND, you should understand Texas.

you just lost what little e-credibility you had here. you clearly failed football history.

Why don't you wait 5 weeks to see if that actually happens and then post something about it. LSU fans are nothing like their team; their team plays one game at a time and thats why they are 12-0. I can guarantee that not one person on that team is thinking about where their place in history will be right now. They know they have accomplished nothing so far. Take a page from your team's book please.

What exactly did Texas do before that though? They don't have a storied history plain and simple

Not really, maybe for their current(or at least a few years ago) aura, but Texas tore up the SWC and has been to a very large number of bowl games

Texas has 4 NC, and 32 conference titles. Not to mention, they're 2nd or 3rd in all time wins.
