BK’s record against Kirby: 0-3.
There you go.
There you go.

LSU replaced their national championship winning coach that had an undefeated record against Kirby Smart with a coach that has never won a national championship (at the highest level of college football) and can’t beat Kirby. Discuss.
It's that time of year, with way too many people with way too much time on their hands. So you get lame arse OPs like this.
Of course LSU was justified in moving on from Orgeron. And I really liked the shrimp boat captain. That nic name isn't even a slight - I thought he would be perfect at LSU. Really did.
But performance matters. And a natty doesn't equal lifetime tenure. Just ask Kentucky regarding Tubby Smith - another guy I liked, but when it was time, it was time. It was time for Ed O. to move on. They had no reason, given the current arc of the program, to believe things were going to get any better.

That's not proof.
Nick Saban started out 0-3 against Les Miles.

Was Nick 20 years into his head coaching career at that point?

You're welcome. The pleasure was all yours.
And FWIW - when Kirby Smart eventually hits the end of the road, Georgia will be justified in moving on from him as well. Because past performance doesn't guarantee future results, and this is a performance business.

Does Kirby’s program show signs of slowing down anytime soon to you?

No, because BK isn’t Nick Saban.

It should be the standard. In order to be the best you have to beat the best. I guess if beating UGA isn’t the standard for LSU, LSU no longer strives to be the best in football.

Kirby couldn't beat "the best" his first few years at UGA either...

You're right, Kelly never lost to Gerry Dinardo in a bowl game.

Those were literally Kirby’s first years as a head coach. How long has BK been a HC again?
Posted on 4/1/23 at 2:26 pm to Uga Alum
it's his second year at a new program you dingus.
