You implied we only have success in offense when we have NFL stars on the team. What stars did we have in 2011 when we were moving the ball very efficiently and putting up lots of points? You've dodged this question for a while.

No, I didn't.

I said this:

quote:

Its not great, but Cam isn't the issue. Its Les. We will never have a better offense than that under Les

And its not an awful thing. We are a system that relies on defense, special teams, and an offense that doesn't turn it over and can control the clock.

We will never have a "great" offense under Les. That is what I said. Choctaw said 2013 was GREAT and I was telling him that we can't expect that every year because we won't have 3 NFL stars and an NFL QB on our offense.

You also said this:

But I do think without 4 NFL starters, 3 of whom are stars, we have half that 3rd down % and our offense is not nearly as efficient.

2011 proves that statement incorrect.

We had the 86th ranked Total Offense and 106th ranked passing offense in 2011.

That is not a GREAT offense. It was a good offense. We had a stable of 4 RBs and a defense that consistently took the ball away from teams.

#2 Nationally in turnover margin destroys opposing teams on both sides.

And we were 30th in 3rd down % at 44% opposed to #1 at 57% with Mett and squad. So no, our offense wasn't nearly as efficient if you look at the numbers.

Yards are of little value when you get good field position. We moved the ball well most games with the exception of 3.

So I guess 44% is half of 57%? I learned something new.

What do you think gave us great field position in 2011 and gave our offense a much better chance at success?

I was talking about the past two years in that comment when talking to someone else and you interjected yourself into the conversation misguidedly.

My point was that we will never have a GREAT offense under Les Miles. We never have and never will. I don't even think 2013 was an ELITE offense, we just killed it on 3rd down because of our freak athletes so it was a very clutch offense. Statistically we weren't in the top 20 in really anything but 3rd down %.

We live and die by defense, field position, special teams, and limiting mistakes such as turnovers and big plays.

That's our recipe under Miles. It works when we have the right pieces. One of those pieces will never be a great offense.

You bring down the collective IQ of the state. Though, to be fair, you'd do that in every state.

I was unaware a shitty offense moved the ball better form the 40 as opposed to the 20. I learned two new things today.

That's an odd way of saying perhaps you exaggerated.

You didn't know having good field position helps an offense immensely? Really?

No that's a straighforward way of saying I wasn't talking to you or about the year you quoted.

I don't understand what you're arguing. I don't think you're arguing anything.

And even worse, he supposedly lives in Metairie.
I wonder if he's the one driving that '69 Ford Econoline with the gun rack and possum tail on the antenna.
I always see it parked at Big Lots or Dollar General when I drive by those. Hmmm, must have a sale on Skoal or overalls.....
At any rate, he's the perfect example of the typical ala-shame-a thing..........

Is a 3 and out from the 40 better than a 3 and out from the 20? Yes or no? (besides the aspect of field position obviously, since it has no bearing on how well an offense moves)

There are entirely new parts of playbooks opened once you get near midfield. The risk of turnover at your own 20 limits playcalling.

That is a very well known fact.

And I guess not? What the hell does this question even mean? Are you arguing good field position doesn't help an offense succeed?

If I were you I'd feel very awkward admitting you're Cajun but also a fan of ala-shame-a. You only put it on yourself.
I notice Alabama alumni haven't started an SEC Rant that fans of any school can go on. Nooooooooo, you things have closed forums that only Cecil and Billy Joe-Bob can go on.
So what do you do? You come on a site started and sponsored by LSU alumni and fans and show your big red arse.
What a source of pride you must be to your Dad and his wife your sister.
Once again, you live in fantasy land.

I work for a government agency and live near Kenner. I don't know who your friend 'BiG Lee' is, but once again, you are woefully confused.

BTW, corndogs are a staple of the Texas State Fair (Oklahoma and Texas weekend), and Nebraska and Iowa fans, and evidently - YOUUU for Sunday dinner, since you talk about them so much.

Do me a favor, please.
1. Set yourself on fire with your faulty spittoon.
2. Lower yourself inch by inch into the Elmwood Water treatment plant -

you stupid motherfricking red a-hole piece of unborn mucas membrane regurgitated possum afterbirth skunk rectum........
