What has hand done ON the field so far in college?

He managed to get meaningful playing time as a sophomore, in a unit that boasts at the bare minimum 3 first round draft picks. He had as many tackles for loss as your starting defensive end, the one y'all like to tout as such a beast. Williams plays with his hand in the dirt, so does Anderson. You can call them what you want, but they play as defensive linemen.

Just because a guy is behind a first rounder on the depth chart doesn't mean he can't play. You can only put 11 guys on the field at a time. This whole notion that "so and so is a backup so he can't be that good" is absurd. There was no drop off when these "backups" were in the ballgame, meanwhile your starters got pushed around on multiple occasions a year ago.

Did I say that? I'm saying coaching didn't hold Leonard fournette to 30 yards last November. It was a front seven moving the line of scrimmage backwards on every play, and 190 pound safeties making solo tackles. We played straight up base defense with 7 in the box. Nick Saban can't make A'shawn Robinson or Jon Allen beat a block

Had more TFLs and sacks than LaCouture and Bower, for one.

tomlinson has been a solid BACKUP his three years at bama. Nothing more nothing less.

More tackles than Bower and the same as LaCouture in 2015.

Who are these two "projected" first round picks L5U is going to trot out at DE? What have they done in college?

What does LSU/bama stats have to do with the fact LSU held four of our common opponents to fewer passing yards?

Lewis Neal played over his head last year but he is not a first round pick. Nice motor but he's just not first round talent. Key is a one trick pony that got abused in the run game when I watched him. Only had 6.5 TFL, same as "what has he done on the field" Da'Shawn Hand last year. It's a pointless argument. Everyone outside of a few homers on this board knows Alabama has superior talent up front.

LaCoture was in on twice as many tackles as hand. I'll take that over two sacks. Bower is a LB now. Not counting him as a Dlinemen

From the numbers I saw LaCoture had more tackles and sacks that tomlinson.

I would hope so, since lsu didn't have a serviceable backup he saw a lot more snaps than those two guys, hell he probably had more snaps than those two combined. That doesn't make him a better football player. Anyone with a functioning set of eyes in their head will tell you that both Hand and Tomlinson are better football players than Christian Lacouture.

He was a starter. You asked what Hand had done and I telt you.

Same as Key. So who are these DLs that are better than Bama's? Neal is a stud. That's the only one I can even think of.

Again, you compared a starter to a guy you bagged on for being a career back-up. They each had 35 tackles.

He uses a nice suburb of Memphis in his username and claims to be an LSU student. Ive lived in the same said suburb and it's rare to see an lsu attendee. Geographically he's probably an Ole Miss alter.

What about the LSU idiots in this thread that think LSU has a better DL, LB, or DB unit/units."?

LSU and bama had six common opponents last year.

FOUR of the six had MORE passing yards VS the tide than LSU.

Might have been because against LSU the games were closer and those common opponents were able to run the ball more frequently, whereas against Bama those common opponents were in positions that they HAD to pass more.

But hey, don't let actual football scenarios get in the way of your attempt to make a point.

If there was ever the year to beat Bama, it would be this upcoming season. Not to mention that they'll be at home. If they don't beat us this year, it will probably be a while before they get a "W." LSU will lose the majority of their key starters after this season, and the 2017 game could get ugly, and even though they'll be at home in 2018, they won't have a QB, and 2019 will be in Tuscaloosa.

well we all know how that worked out last year for UGA when Bama was the underdog going into Athens.

Can you stop making the rest of us LSU fans look bad?
