The reason why having one of the best quarterbacks in the nation is so important is for games just like this. While I'm expecting a Big 12 shootout to break out at DKR on Saturday, the biggest advantage in this game is the one the Longhorns have at quarterback. Sam Ehlinger has been to the circus and seen all of the clowns in these type of big games. I'm expecting him to be the difference in an otherwise air-tight contest.

Let use some common sense here.
Texas has one real RB playing.
Texas lost 8 Defensive starters from last year.
Texas is currently ranked 113th in pass defense THIS year.
Texas gave up 340 passing yards to La tech THIS year
The Texas QB will be hit hard on every single play
LSU has 11 starters on defense who are all future NFL players including 4 First rounders.
LSU is currently ranked #1 in pass defense
LSU is littered with elite Receivers
LSU has a seasoned QB who beat 4 Top ten teams last year.
LSU will rotate 5 RB's
LSU will rotate 8 Defensive Lineman
LSU Linebackers are better THIS year even with losing the #5 overall pick to the NFL
LSU has the best defensive player in the country
Who would you pick to win this game?

It's not 2018 anymore. We have depth and experience on the DLine now. Last year we also lost our best pass rusher in game 1. He's back sporting the celebrated #18.

All these folks are wish casting a UT win. Texas , simply , is not that good. They are not very good on defense , in any phase , and their QB is one of the most over-rated players in the NCAAs. IMO. LSU smokes Texas. 14 or more. JB>SE and it’s not close. Just watch and see that over-hyped QB @ UT get exposed by a secondary that is second to none in the country. It’s not going to be pretty. This is the week the SEC makes it statement and let’s the country know that the SEC is still on top. LSU wins. A&M wins. That will shake most of the country.

Are you sure you are not jealous LSU has Jacob Philips? I remember the OU boards having quite the meltdown when he decommitted from OU and went to LSU.

Why would I be jealous of LSU having a player we recruited? Several teams have players we recruited. Bama has quite a few.
