Two by my count. He didn't just miss, he was short and didn't have the leg.
It was 4th and forever in OT. Kicking into the wind. Not much of a choice. Kinda hard to go for it when it's 4th and 20. I don't factor that into being a bad choice, as much as it was the only choice. And as I said, in the 40 to 50 range, we hit them in game 2, from 25% in game one to 66% in game two. They were capable, that's why I don't blame the coaches for trying.

I listed three, I said two. I excluded the OT kick. I'm not going to sit here and fight tooth and nail with someone that sees the guy as infallible. There is no point.

And I will point out again, they missed one shorter than one they made in the first game. That would have won the game 9-6 with no overtime. The coaches made the right calls, imo. The kickers just didn't do it, when they were capable.

And Shep fell down without anyone touching him and Ford ran out of bounds without anyone touching him, blah blah blah.

Honestly I thought the WR pass was also a terrible call. Richardson had just started to catch a rhythm and you throw the ball with a WR?!?!? That was a really bad call. Keep pounding the ball and do what you're good at.
I have a hard time disagreeing with TA that some of the calls were awful.

blah blah blah when I show you the kickers were capable of making a kick you think was a bad call. That quickly diverted away from trying to make a point.

Yeah that was the worst call of the game. But as we continue to say, it really doesn't matter at this point. Y'all won the NC, and that's all that matters. Only nice to win the SEC when you actually finish the year as the highest ranked SEC team.

I think Miles was honest when he said it would have not been fair to put in Lee against that pass rush.
LSU had a good Run blocking line and all year they were able to stay ahead of the Chains. They gained solid yards on 1st and 2nd downs and always had the ability to play action to slow down the rush.
Against Bama running between the tackles is close to impossible and LSU was placed in obvious passing situations and the pass protection was a weakness.
LSU had a big line, but not very athletic.
AJ had a great game, but the Bama Oline held up a lot better than LSUs and that was the biggest mismatch in the teams. Montgomery and Mingo got liitle to no pressure and Upshaw, Gentry and Hightower smashed Jefferson all night

I'm not saying there weren't some in the game. I'm just saying, the kick attempts weren't bad calls, imo. Those particular plays, were plays out kickers have made before and with points and the defenses playing as they were, if there is a chance for points, you have to try for them.

Then why have the Maze throw that pass if you were well in his range? Like you said, he had already made a 46 yarder. Y'all were at like the 30 I believe at that point? Again, just a poor decision on the coaches part.

Going into the one kick he made, he has already missed 3. The fact he then made one doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't have kicked it given the situation.

I've not argued about the WR pass being a good call. I simply have stated my opinion on the kick attempts.

Fair enough. We disagree then.

The score was 6-3. Lsu wasn't getting a TD, another 3 would have iced it. He'd made those kicks before, I'd have tried rather than give up a chance on a punt return.
