Only difference though is that is not a reviewable play. If it was reviewable, it would be for sure called a penalty, but the flag was missed. It happens because humans aren't perfect..which is why video replay is there for other situations.

The interception was reviewed, and even with that picture was called imcomplete...

Oh wait.. there are a dozen recent examples of officiating bias for Bama

Fwiw I don't think it's a conspiracy.. just that the flagship team is protected/gets the benefit of the doubt because of reputation.

A still picture doesn't tell the whole story. It was a tough call to make on the field and could have gone either way. The guy on the sideline wasn't sure he had control and was in bounds, so he said it was incomplete. I think we also had pretty shitty monitors for the reviews back then (I think we got HD monitors a year or two later). After the review, they said the call stands. They didn't confirm the call, they couldn't confirm or overrule the call.
