A couple of people said the charges are probably going to be dismissed.

While I agree it doesn't look good, the sensational headline makes it look worse than I think it is.

The indefinite suspension is the next logical step in the process, regardless of the expected outcome.

Then I guess your assertion about Hill's deal going down like JJ's doesn't carry much weight, eh?

I dont think anyone assertation about Hill's situation carries much weight considering no one in this thread has legit specific info.

I think he'll be suspended for awhile and reinstated after it works itself out like JJ was last year, just my opinion.

Probably is mandated by the school or something like that.

You were the one that brought up the percentage of Bama fans in this thread and are now getting upset when people are asking you why you care

What about the lineman that got a DUI?

I don't know that for sure, but it's definitely precedented.

ETA: Obviously ever situation should be handled individually. But I think in every situation, stepping back and looking at all the factors before making a permanent decision is prudent. Indefinite suspension allows for that to happen.

Indefinite suspension is perfunctory, it means no time limit has been set. At worse could be kicked off team, at best, runs a lot of laps watching team at practice. Coach Miles can't possibly make a final decision till 1.) legal status is resolved, 2.) He determines the severity of Hill's actions, 3.) monitoring Hill's behaviour and meeting likely conduct requirements till season starts...all IMO.

I agree ... but what is going to hurt Hill, and perhaps force Miles' hand, is the previous history, two of them involving battery of one sort or another. If it were smoking dope or drinking I think Miles would have more latitude, but two different claims of battery ... unless the charges are totally dropped, and in a hurry, it could make it tough on Miles.

But who knows.

He'll most-likely be back, without any further infractions. But....

What the hell is wrong with this kid??? Did he not learn a hard lesson the first time around??? NFL potential- and he's gonna jeopardize that over a stupid night out in Tigerland?? Good grief.

His actions may leave Coach Miles with no decision to make. Violation is probably jail time. Time will tell. Sad story cause he can flat out play.

This.

Still a very good chance he'll be back by fall camp if the "victim" that instigated it admits that, doesn't press charges, and asks DA not to press charges.

yep, all the kid had to do was play 1 more year than head off to the NFL. LSU stood by him through some BS once already. If Miles boots him, I have no problem with it.

What I really dont understand is, if the reports of other players/kids beating him up are true. Why would Hill even strike the guy? Hill's gotta know after the racial slurs were said that the kids gonna get his arse beat. why not just sit back and watch it and not take a role in it? either way, the kid gets his arse beat for yelling racial slurs, and Hill watching is obviously not a crime. Why not just let it go and watch the kid get beat up and go on about your night?

Oh and his probation should be over. Sentenced to 2 years probation in January of 2011.

And that was for getting a blowie from a HS freshman when he was a HS senior. Something I'm sure we all have had happen to us or friends or ours.
