This is the false hope.

LSU simply isn't good enough to run right at Ole Miss over and over again. It just is not going to happen, period.

LSU's only real hope vs. this Defense is to not make mistakes and hope the Ole Miss Offense sets them up to score on a short field.

They will try really hard to run right at Ole Miss and then they will stop that nonsense as it is a recipe for punting. Ask Bama.

Bama found one thing that worked, running left. We adjusted (they didnt stop trying) and dared them to pass over the top, they couldn't. LSU is no threat to throw on us so we will pin our ears back and blow up their run game in the backfield before it even gets rolling downhill at all.

LSU is rebuilding and we aren't.

But I watched him call pass plays that got intercepted last year.

Last year: Senior QB with a first rounder and second rounder at WR.

This year: Sophomore QB with a freshman WR and a sophomore WR.

A subtle difference that has changed the play calling patterns a bit.

Sure we do. We have some fat offensive linemen. So does LSU

They rushed for about 160 and lost one of their star running backs in the second quarter.

They gained about 60-70 of those rushing yards on one drive.

Was just about to post this. Believe it was the one they scored the TD on.

So what you are saying is that last year you had an NFL type QB with a real threat of the pass and you still couldn't run like you think you need to in order to win this year.

Yeah, we will focus on the run and dare LSU to throw (they can't). You don't put up good #'s vs. the nation's best defense unless you can at least keep them guessing.

LSU is going to struggle to create first downs. They will need help to win.

For certain situations, yes. Auburn for the most part has pretty lean linemen from what I can tell.

Do you think auburn's quicker oline will negate your dline's greatest asset (quickness)?

What I'm saying is Ole Miss isn't going to get many sacks because LSU isn't going to be passing the ball much and it's stupid to extrapolate anything about this year's team from last year's.

Obviously.

The oline and defense must play out of their gourds. LSU must win the field position battle from turnovers and special teams. Only the rantards don't believe this.

It's the reality of what they do regardless of what you throw at them. Their Bread and ca-jun seasoned butter.

Good enough is not the point. It is what they will do. Your HOPE is that your defense can handle it. Bama put up 160 with the loss of a star running back in the 2nd quarter, a fact that you can't get around.

Again, bama lost a star RB in the second quarter. Not sure of your point.

Ok... if you want to go on in la la land, your choice. Just know that Bama.. 160 with loss of star RB, LSU close to 600 yards on the ground in last 2 games with defense improvements.

On the other hand.. Ole miss is struggling offensively. No run game (84th in the nation) and Bubbles just threw for less than 50% completions vs UT.

Auburn is the toughest test left but I don't see this team losing at home.

This D at home is just too much.

Against the two top-30 rushing offenses Ole Miss has faced, they've allowed 361 yards, 4.46 ypa. LSU is 30th in rushing offense.

So in other words against the 2 top 29 rushing offense we have given up 361 and LSU is 30. Aka out of that special range.

Without a threat of passing the run will not affect us.

I am very confident they will not be able to run right over Ole Miss. They haven't shown the ability to run over good teams.

This isn't LSU of even last year. The OL isn't as good as it has been in the past. The Ole Miss Dline is just better than the LSU Oline, period.

You don't run over teams who are better than you are in the trenches.

Game has blowout written all over it.

Seattle Seahawks are the smallest (lightest) team in the NFL as they were last year when they won the Super Bowl.

Which is why you attack them by leaning on them. Speed doesn't help you when someone comes straight at you
