Do you care to elaborate? You guys are down 8 scholarships over the next two years, and missed a bowl game for the 2020-2021 academic year. Am I missing something?

Cheating and unintentionally committing violations are two different things.

Which of the violations was intentionally committed by LSU football in order to gain a competitive advantage?

What was the situation with Albert Means and Alabama? Is it the same deal with Vadal Alexander - booster paying an advisor to presumably influence the recruit?

I’d say paying a player’s family a substantial amount of cash, a former player handing out cash after wins, and a head coach having illegal contact with a recruit could all fall under that umbrella.
But I don’t semantic very well.

It wasn’t cheating, okay? We just had a booster pay a large sum of money to the recruit’s head coach. Alabama didn’t do it on purpose, and it was unrelated to the athlete playing for Alabama - I promise.

I thought it was something like that. I guess the difference with Vadal Alexander is he was already on the team at LSU when his Dad took a payment.
But Alabama is still around and thriving. So I think we’ll be OK.

Neither of these were committed by LSU football and neither gave LSU football a competitive advantage so your "point" that LSU football was cheating holds no water.
However, they are both still violations by the letter of the law hence the self imposed sanctions.

That has nothing to do with the bowl ban.

You haven't even seen the NCAA sanctions quite yet. But they are coming, and reports like this will make it harder for the NCAA not to act. How much is football, basketball, tennis, etc. is to be determined.
But the entire AD is rotten to the core

Since when did the NCAA start enforcing Title IX?

We’ve all been there, haven’t we?
The difference is LSU will win another national championship sooner than later.

hell of a lot of attempt in this thread to spin away from a federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Education and a separate investigation by the NCAA.
Lack of Institutional Control incoming.

I've simply posted facts. Why is that bothering you?

Okay, you win.
LSU football didn’t do anything wrong. Any sanctions they’re self imposing or will receive will not be as a result of anything nefarious.

Are you sure you can’t find a letter of that law to disagree with while we’re here?

I didn’t say it did. It was a part of their self imposed sanctions for cheating.

Tuscaloosa doesn't know what the word "cheating" means.
Oof!
