I almost posted quotes from a couple years ago from some LSU fans expressing frustration with Chavis' defensive philosophy. Figured that might show that folks didn't just jump on the bandwagon just because Chavis bolted.
But then I remembered a couple things. 1 being I don't care enough. 2 being I'd be dealing with a particular group of ags on here that have to coach their own on how to troll the SECr. Not to mention a few of them really take shite personal. Not worth it. Let em keep living in their fantasy world. It's all they have on LSU besides bringing up shite from the 90s

If your insurance company is letting you fight it without them paying for your defense, you need to find a new carrier

This is hilarious coming from lsufan
Our respective fanbases are eerily similar, tbh.

There's maybe 20 of you guys that post regularly. There's literally as many LSU fans on this board as all other SEC schools combined. Of course we have our village idiots. Every fan base does.
And no one on the TR tries to rally the troops to head over to the SECr like y'all and Arkansas fans.

It's a very loose example. Seeing as how aTm is named as a Defendant in the matter, no matter how willingly, I have no idea who is responsible for Chavis's legal fees.

This is probably one of the greatest insults to the LSU fanbase, tbh

Living in Texas minus four years in BR, you get to know them quite well. There are many, many great Ags. I have them in my family actually/unfortunately sometimes. Knowing how they felt/feel about Texas and how Texas felt about them compared to OU is strikingly similar to the relationship now and ours with Bama. You win because you were supposed to win. You lose, dear Lord close your eyes & ears til kickoff the next year.

They've been little bro in their state for a long time. LSU has run Louisiana for a far back as my memory will go. I think each fan base expects much different from it's program due to accomplishments. There is no way I could say our fan bases are similar. I'd say aTm and Arkansas are very similar.

Meh. It's not really much of a war. More of an LSU incursion at this point.

-Mississippi
-Texas A&M
-Arkansas
At least Mississippi State knows where their place is.

We only do that when we know y'all are lurking our board.
And we are successful, apparently.

I'm not that ecstatic about it, either

I didn't think about it like that. I'll allow it.

I honestly don't lurk any boards. There isn't enough activity. I only know y'all do that from reading it on here.
Sure? Bask in it bro. I remember being a teenager.
Eta forgot you're a mod. You should do the board a favor and stop some of your own from rallying the troops. It'd do wonders for this board.
Etaa y'all only do that when you know LSU fans are lurking? Do you realize how much the TR gets lurked?

Chavis's contract ran through January, and he quit the beginning of February when his vacation time ran out.
Actually, it ran through December of 2015 and there was a stipulation that if he quit before a certain date (which is still up for confirmation), he owes LSU 400k and that if LSU terminated him before this date, he would be owed 400k by LSU.
quote:
By the contract Chavis is in the clear. Hence why he did not pay.
Or he's not. If he was so blatantly in the clear, why would he have rushed to file before LSU to establish a possibly more favorable venue. Furthermore, why would LSU even file a counterclaim if he was so undeniably in the right?
quote:
It is LSU that has to prove he quit before February, which is harder than just showing the judge some recruiting photos. He could have just been touring his future employer's work environment as part of the interview, which happened to overlap some recruiting already in place.
LOL, surely you don't think Aggy's legal counsel will be able to explain away those photos that easily? Those photos, in combination with phone records LSU has filed for, will undoubtedly be more A&M's burden to explain than LSU's to prove.
quote:
Unless discovery finds some email dated early January where Chavis says "now that I quit LSU, here is what I will do this month..." then LSU has a very large burden to prove he owes that money.
Chavis tendered his resignation before the 5th of January, after he'd already been at A&M since I believe the 2nd. He was required to give LSU 30 days notice and expected to fulfill that 30 day obligation. How is Chavis going to prove he was fulfilling that obligation? I'm sure if he is going to contend that was his vacation, he would have no problem presenting documentation that he got LSU's approval for said vacation before he submitted his resignation, correct? I'm sure LSU would have approved all that vacation just before signing day
quote:
If the NCAA was investigating this they would tell us. Heck if they didn't take down Miami and North Carolina this won't even show up on their radar. Only LSU fans are so convinced they will get involved.
How long does the NCAA typically take to get involved? If they are going to get involved (which I'm not saying they will, just throwing around some hypotheticals), what makes you so sure it would have been by now? Could it be possible they are waiting for the legal issues to be worked out first?
quote:
LSU has a lot to lose. First of all there is that buyout money, but that is only the start. Then there is Chavis's backpay for vacations, and his legal fees. Plus the fact that if it comes out the contract was shitty/altered then the LSU AD looks like a chump. LSU is risking a lot for not a lot of money.
It is A&M that has little to lose. At the worst, the absolute worst, we pay the buyout in a settlement. But for some legal fees and some time we get to dig the knife in a competitor's AD, and maybe expose him as incompetent. Very low risk for a lot of potential reward for Aggy.
I would say both have a lot to lose at this point. LSU has counter-sued for more (as has Chavis), so I'd be willing to bet once breach is either established (or not) both sides will opt for a settlement.
It's disingenuous to say LSU has so much to lose, while ignoring A&M's risk...both legal and NCAA. You bring up LSU's reputation at stake, what about A&M's should a judgment come against Chavis? He breached contract and A&M supported that breach. Yeah, I see absolutely no reputation damage or recruiting material there.
