Tiger Stadium is one of, if not the, premier stadium in college football, and I'm glad our Administration is serious about taking steps to protect that. There is no excuse whatsoever for a division foe to be allowed to make a run on that claim. Alabama has made tremendous upgrades to BDS, it's no longer a joke up there. But we're going to respond here pretty soon.
Bryant-Denny is one of the most historical stadiums in the country. It's not as if VHS passed you.
And BDS had always been a nice stadium, it just need more modern updates.

Pretty sure BD has a similiar problem with not enough sun. I know there were some concerns about it back last summer.
Not sure how they solved the problem, but they obviously did.
The lack of sun in the later months of the year just compounded the problem with drainage last year. With no heavy rainfall this year, it wasn't as noticable.

Until you expanded it wasn't in the same class as TS at all.

It's always had better upkeep, that's for sure. Just take a look at the exterior.

Every team in the SEC should be mandated to use prescription athletic turf. That plactic shite that Vaught Hemingway has took out our best wide receiver. Broke his collar bone.

LSU's stadium would be ridiculously massive if they bowled it in. We are talking in the 115,000 range.

Actually it is not all that historical because most of the big games were played in Bham until the 2000's.

LSU getting preliminary information on expanding the South EZ UD, which would put Tiger Stadium at around 105,000
Construction could start late 2011 or late 2012.
However, the addition of a South UD may require LSU to switch to field turf due to more sun blockage.
LSU needs to fix the windows first. And you have to upgrade the concessions. I've seen better concession stands at high school stadiums.
I don't recall what the restrooms were like, but at the 09 Bama and LSU game, I had a LSU fan tell me he'd come back for another game at BDS just because of the clean restrooms. How hard is it to keep restrooms clean?

BDS and TS have two VERY different feelings. You can't compare the two.
Alabama has done some phenomenal upgrades to BDS. It's very clean and presentable. "Shiny" if you will. Not quite as imposing, IMO.
TS is not as clean, but it has a mystique about it that is irreplaceable. You walk into it and it looks steeped in history. I'm all for cleaning it up a bit, but it's a football stadium, not a shopping mall.
Would like to seem them wrap the Coliseum-like facade of the North endzone to the south.

Underway. I know they have started, not sure if they finished all of them.
There is also a big push to refurbish the old dorms in the stadium as game-day condos

Yeah I agree. I like the stripped down feel of the interior.
The windows are being replaced this offseason, and I know they have been talking about doing some other renovations which is important, but honestly I would rather our money be spent to keep the facilities the players use (practice fields, locker rooms, ect) up to state of the art levels over what us fans see and use.

How do they plan on solving the glory hole problem?

More so for its namesake. His winning streak there. And the early games played in BDS, before the big games were moved to Legion Field.

I'm talking about places that are the lists of "best college football stadiums", "loudest college football stadiums" "best atmospheres" "places to go see a game before you die" ect ect.
Before, it was TS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BDS
Now it's just TS>>>>BDS

BDS now is absolutely a top tier stadium. It's huge, it's modern, and it's damn intimidating.

I hope that there is some effort spent into considering the accoustics for keeping Tiger Stadium "like playing inside a drum".
It could get even louder.
It could get even louder.
