Remind me how many innings Skenes pitched in the three-game national championship series against Florida.
Exactly! Jay Johnson burned his best pitcher up before that series. It isn’t like Johnson didn’t ride him like Seabiscuit. Skenes led the SEC with 122 innings pitched in 2023. Only two other SEC pitchers pitched over 100 innings with 106 and 101 innings pitched.
No, if Skenes had been near 100 hundred percent Johnson would have pitched him against Florida. If not, he is a dumbass. Instead, he is a dumbass for burning him up earlier in the week.

Want to prove a Gump is a moron. Wind him up and let him go.

Here is an interesting stat. Without Paul Skenes, Jay Johnson has won zero SEC or national championships and has an SEC record of 30-30.
Prove that to us. I want everyone to see your work. Show us who else would have started in those games and what the outcome would have been. You're a fricking idiot.

No problem.

Leave out 2023 with Skenes.
Wins: 17 +13 = 30
Losses: 13 + 17 = 30
Without Skenes, Johnson is .500 in SEC play.
I can’t help you with what if. Just what did.

I mean it isn't like Skenes pitched every game that year.
captdalton making a fool of himself, per usual.

The only people more insecure than Tennessee fans are LSU fans.
Your need for validation in everything is hilarious.

What could have been.... I feel like State had as good of chance as anyone to win it all in 2020. Back to Back would have been really nice.

No doubt. Those 10 losses that season are proof of that. Even with Dylan Crews and Tommy Tanks playing everyday and Skenes pitching more innings than any other player in the country Johnson only won 65.5% of SEC games.
As this post points out that team was stacked with talent. They may have been the most talented SEC baseball teams since the 90s. When is the last time a team with that much talent failed to win the SEC?

Pretty big achievement, I realize Bama fans don't follow baseball but the SEC is stacked.
