The game wouldn't have even been slightly interesting if LSU gave it 100%, or even 60%.

So you play for the team?

No, but I have eyes.
Really, anyone with a set of working eyes could see it too.

In the first half yeah but that's why you play 4 Qs.

No excuse for not giving 100% all of the time. Stop making excuses of why it wasn't a blow out when we're were pretty close to coming back to a one score and possible tie. And frick the moral victors. I'm trying to make you look like the arse you are.

Unless you play a real team the next week, and don't want to show your playbook to that team.

were pretty close to coming back

Side note, why does the Auburn band play Glory to Ole Georgia? Did Alabama and Georgia official trade Auburn for Columbus?

Does Auburn give 100% for 4 quarters against San Jose State?

No? that's how we feel about you.

I would say more Murray State, since San Jose State is still a FBS team

I know the score is the only stat that matters but it is interesting that they were so close on offensive yardage. Somewhat unusual to see 2 teams within 20 yards of each other.

STAT LINE
The teams were nearly equal in yards. LSU tallied 457 total yards (228 passing, 229 rushing) while Auburn had 437 yards (213 passing, 224 rushing.) Auburn had 21 first downs to LSU's 16.

Less than one minute into the 4th quarter, it was 35-14. LSU had 455 yards to Auburn's 268. If we kept aggressive on offense, no way they get over 350. Miles packed it in and the defense packed it in.

And If Gus hadn't stopped running it up the middle after the first drive Auburn would have still gotten as many yards. LSU couldn't stop them at the front of the game when they hadn't "packed it in". Or if Auburn hadn't given them a free TD on a bobbled punt the game would have stayed closer and Auburn would have played even harder in the first half and gotten more yards. It goes both ways. To act like LSU wasn't trying to stop them at any point in the game is stupid.

We could have thrown the ball AT WILL against Auburn's defense. Didnt need to. Les let em hang around. Our young players will learn from that. We had 5 false starts in the 1st half and still pounded the ball down you're throat. Auburn aint good and never will be unless they pay players.

Didn't he go for it on the 15 yard line with a fake punt in the second half?

Yes, and it was almost as idiotic as our fake punt against Bama last year when we had 10+ yards to go. It took an easy three points off of the board. I'm glad he never repeats the same mistake...

No it wasn't. It was 21 -0 at half. He did it in the second half and we scored on that drive. And A Johnson played a shite load in second half including faking an injury on the last play. No a lot of your second third teamers we're not playing. Y'all just started to play soft. Y'all may of rotated but whatever AU was fighting back.

One close stat =/= close game. The outcome was decided early. The only thing that wasn't decided was when LSU would take the gas off, which was much too early to keep idiots from mouthing off that "Auburn was fighting back". Yes, LSU's D played soft but if the offense had kept trying as hard as they did, they would have tripled AU's final score.

No we dominated the whole game til the fourth. It goes both ways that we fumbled in the redzone and trick play instead of tacking the points.

Yall scored off of both of those mistakes and we scored off one. Take the mistakes away and the game is 28-7. Whatever you say, we still roasted yall. Excluding the touchdown on the first play of the fourth, we threw the ball TWICE our next three possessions, and that was to get a first and run the ball some more. LSU gave Auburn a chance.

Lot of yards came late. We were never in the game in the second half.

We are heading in the right direction and light years ahead of last year.

If Marshall had played the first half like the second, we would have had a shot. I think he grows a lot from it though.

I think we are going to put it together and be a good team soon. I'm not sure when, but it is coming. And the good thing is we will return 10 starters on offense next year and 10 on defense if you don't count Holland.

Way to rational of a post in this thread.
I have always been a skeptic of Gus, but I can see how with the right qb who is mobile and can make at least decent throws, how well his offense works.

Its also good to see a coach going for it on 4th. Auburn is already a much better team than last year, and will only continue to improve.
