Carrying the ball is the most inconsistent call in college basketball IMO. Smart got called for one in a game and whoever we were playing was doing it worse. I think it was Tennessee and Bone. Tremont has been playing that way for 2 years and I don't think he's gotten called for it once.

Which player has even been shown to even be aware of an offer, much less a dollar amount or an actual accepted offer. Right now there's just a media report that there is a recording of Will Wade saying he made an offer to a middle man that never presented the offer to anyone at all.

Now you just talking semantics. He made a strong arse offer, but it was tilted too much towards the players parents. EVERYONE with a functioning brain knows that the player was Javonte Smart. Javonte Smart knows he was the player.
It's ok, though. You'll still have the memories of winning the games and all that. Just not the official record in the record book. Who cares about that anyways?

I'm only talking about how this affects the players. It's only a violation for Wade to discuss making an offer to a middle man. That doesn't affect a player's eligibility. They are going to have to prove that a player even knew about an offer or accepted one. That's why all of this is so hard to pin on schools because there's never a paper trail. Do you believe that the NCAA will vacate all of these kids' wins because Wade talked about an offer if they can't prove that one kid ever even knew about an offer or accepted anything?

Not for a second. But it's fun to say it and give outlandish reasons why it must happen. And yes, I'm 52 years old.
Now, if they can prove it, yeah, they should vacate. But if they can't conclusively prove, it they shouldn't and won't.
But Wade is done at LSU. Whether they can prove Smart took the money or not, they've got Wade dead to rights offering it to at least someone on behalf of Smart.

This is where I'm at. I know other schools cheat, but if you're dumb enough to get busted you deserve to get your wins vacated.

He says the whole story isn't told by that report. I find it hard to believe that anything outside of his cooperating with the FBI during this call could exonerate him.
The only other saving grace he could have is if there are so many coaches involved that he's not hit as hard. I don't expect him back personally.
