Bonapartists? Our historical family town in West Alabama was originally settled (and abandoned) by Bonapartists.

I don’t think so but that’s a great question. When napoleon was excommunicated, my great great grandfather settled in New Orleans and eventually st Landry parish

I am an LSU folk.

My lineage is tied strong to south Alabama.

I share the blood of those who have bled for The Bear.

I now bleed purple and gold.....and have since choosing LSU over UA.

Gumps would never understand. Much less those who have walked the halls.

I can. My mom has researched our genealogy for nearly 50 years. Growing up we spent many sundays in graveyards to find relatives. She traced our family on my father’s side that his great x something grandfather on the manifest from the ships that brought over the Acadians. Her side of the family comes from the Leon region of France with direct descendent of Charlemagne. That grandfather and uncle came to LA around 1802 to avoid the mandatory draft into Napoleons’ army. My family has lived in the same parish in Louisiana since the early 1800s.

My mom’s ancestors are from Nova Scotia. There is a Church Point in Nova Scotia that is a sister city to Church Point, Louisiana with the same surnames.

Read James Webb's "Born Fighting" ...interesting read.

(Not about South LA...more about Appalachia and Scotch-Irish)

Same for me on my mother's mother's side.

Dad's dad's side was traced back to England since the early 1500's. His mother's side also came from England.
