LSU fans who just think it was a terrible call and that's it?

Y'all, I agree with. Even if you could make the argument for targeting, it was so ticky-tacky that any reasonable ref would have swallowed his whistle. At absolute worst, you could argue late hit, but that's NFL protecting the QB at all costs bullshite, so that shouldn't have been called either.
Come on, I know there are plenty of LSU fans who just consider it a terrible call, especially with a penalty like targeting where the repercussions last longer than the play.

It's also the fact that they reviewed it (in about six seconds) and CONFIRMED it. Not even "the play stands."
Utter bullshite.
Utter bullshite.

It's a terrible rule in general.

You mean as no BAMA conspiracy? Me... there isn’t one.

You guys are reasonable but a number of your teams fans are so... Victim Mentality U. it's just sad. Not really funny anymore.

It was a bad call and they should have reversed it. Shouldn't have been called in the first place. The team has to deal with the repercussions now.
The subsequent dead ball penalties were correct.
The result after all penalties enforced...just karma. Fitz throwing another pick.

There's also room for non-LSU fans who agree it was a bad call, yes.

I think the targeting penalty needs to be looked at more. It wasn’t a blatant head shot. It wasn’t even roughing or a late hit. He was engaged before the ball was thrown. I also think they need to do away with the ejection and suspension. Head to head contact is unavoidable. Unless, the hit had malicious intent, don’t suspend a kid from playing time.

It was Bordeline roughing the passer and I can see how one could call that on white and Mack, both were clean to me. But to call targeting and ejection was complete bs.

It was an over call but, albeit subjectively, there was basis to make it. And it’s emphasized this year.
The LSU fans that think the ref was giggling to himself as he tossed the flag because he knew DW would have to sit for half the bama game... just dumb.
There’s no conspiracy. DW just fell victim to the changing landscape from all the focus on player safety, long term dangers of head injuries, etc..
There will be no fricking asterisk if Bama wins.

No it’s really very little with this call. It’s all the calls and bullshite over the last 50 years. The call is straw the broke camals back.

I think it’s a terrible rule in general and feel like a 15 yard penalty alone is more than enough deterrent, but nobody bothered to ask the fans when the rule was written.

The hard part is finding a way to satisfy the NCAA with a rule everyone can at least tolerate. The problem is that the NCAA didn't create the targeting rule just to frick with people. They had a specific reason (not the least of which being concerned about lawsuits) for implementing the targeting rule -- player safety. Whether you agree with them or not, they're the ones you have to convince with any substitute plan. They're kicking people out of games as a form of operant conditioning, so it's necessary to prove to them that there are better ways to achieve the goal. Right now, they're relying on players being more careful after an ejection and coaches getting on the players' asses about ejections.

What? I don't think it's some grand conspiracy. Referees in general and SEC referees in particular are fricking terrible. It's no big secret.
