Maybe on paper, but many in the media were picking UGA to win, calling our regular season win a fluke.

Trev Alberts for one. Reminded me of the gem of a hype video embedded in this article.

Not sure if you were a fan back then or if you’re a young buck so don’t take this as a shot.

Back then college football was really only covered after games in terms of highlights on ESPN’s main network. They’d run College Football Final nonstop at night with a host and 2 Analysts. There was bo other show to watch at night breaking down the Saturday Games. Then during the week Beeno Cook was shoved in our faces who wouldn’t talk about anything but the Northern Schools.

From a fan base standpoint all we saw was Trev Albert going on and on downgrading Saban’s LSU team in 2003. It was every fricking week. So half of the ESPN Analysts on the only postgame show on TV knocked LSU week after week without Mark May really disagreeing.

So excuse the frick out of us if our perception at the time that the media didn’t give LSU a chance.

Then the media doubled down awarding the AP Title to USC.

I don’t believe any of the “media hates LSU” bullshite that some of our fans do. But in 2003 you can’t blame anyone for having that take.

He made that claim that most of the media picked against LSU despite them officially being the favorite. He has yet to prove that claim.

Probably hard for him to “prove it” when it was 20 years ago. How about you prove otherwise.

You didn’t “disprove anything I said” either.

You can't prove a negative.

Everyone is going based off of memory as because you can’t find many articles or videos from back then to prove his point. So it’s probably impossible to prove otherwise. Just like you probably can’t “prove” your point as well.

You can continue to be a dick to the guy if you find it worth your time. Media didn’t think LSU was worthy. I can base that on the fact that they awarded AP to USC. If you need me to “prove” that Trev Albert was anti LSU all the way and pumped it up multiple times on the platform he had based on the fact that I can actually remember what went down in 2003 and you as a fan of another team probably wasn’t as invested then I don’t know what to tell you. You win in the Court of the Rant due to “No Proof “!

Congrats and go frick Yourself.

I don't have to prove anything, I'm not the one who made the claim. It's impossible to prove a negative. Not sure why you're mad.

Don't bother arguing with this guy. He will double down repeatedly until he gets the last word.

What do you want us to do? Scour the internet for a bunch of media predictions that were made 20 years ago? I don't care if you believe it or not.

LSU was a 3 point favorite over Georgia. It covered handily.

Many UT fans had brought roses to the game (they were sure they were headed to Pasadena to play for the national championship) - Those roses were all over the Georgia Dome floor at the end of the game.

So UGA needs LSU to have severe depth issues or zero bye weeks all year to win?

Makes sense.
