Not worried at all about the defense. It is top 5.
The offense just continues to improve, and the OL will be the best it has been all season tomorrow night.

This actually plays right into their strengths. Do your homework son.

How confident are you guys in stopping our run/quick pass game? Especially if you’re not allowed to load the box due to an empty set.
Mixed bag. I am interested to see what Aranda does because last years gameplan against State was a head scratcher. Thats the only game I have really been confused by his thinking. We played all our DBs like 10 yards off. It was like we were giving up everything State was good at.
In theory, I would play up on every WR. We have the DBs to do it. Completely take away the quick passing game, and make Fitzgerald beat us by himself running the ball. I think we could easily win that matchup. Thats what we should have done against Florida.
Really the key to this game is getting up early. If we are up by 14 or so in the second half, then the game is already won. You aren't marching down the field throwing the ball. Its going to come from the running game.
ETA: Those stats are not indicative of our defensive talent IMO. La Tech game, SELU game, and late in the Miami game we gave up way more than we should. I think we got very conservative.

Pass Efficiency Defense:
14 LSU 105.82
Yards allowed is a deceptive.
MSU and LSU have almost identical yards per rush and yards per pass this year
Yards per rush
MSU- 3.39
LSU- 3.45
Yards per att
MSU- 5.94
LSU- 6.23
Yards per completion
MSU- 10.78
LSU- 11.93
Red zone defense between the teams is identical.
Our Red zone offense is better, but mainly because we have a bad arse kicker.
Will be a great game
LSU-27
MSU-21
LSU is coming in hot after last year.
If they get a chance to run up the score, they certainly will

If my memory serves me right State was throwing the ball up 30-7 in the 4th. Yeah, we are owing them a major arse kicking and if the situation presents itself I see Coach O running it up!

Pretty confident.
We’ve been pretty stout in games where we’ve had both Phillip and White playing
We’re probaly a top 10 team At full strength, but Florida really spiked out average.
We’re also talking about 15 yards a game being the difference between 26th in rushing yards and 5th.
Passing... do you have a passing attack? Short or otherwise?
You’re ranking 111th in passing offense vs P5 teams.

You’ve already arrived at a conclusion, you know everything. Regardless if LSU wins or loses, LSU will still not be Mississippi state. Mississippi State will always be Mississippi state, and that is as bad as it gets.

the d has a puzzling habit of getting into the backfield and missing a tackle or 2, often. that's probably the biggest problem.
other than that, there isn't much to complain about. the d has shut down pretty much everything except when aranda is subbing players when the tigers have a big lead.
all 3 levels are really, really good.
i think state's biggest obstacle in this game is pass o - it doesn't exist and lsu is already good at defending that. that allows lsu to focus on the run/fitzgerald. that gives lsu's offense time to solve state's d. but, throw in some to's or lucky bounces or injuries and all bets are off.

Honestly, we didn't consistently stop the run against UF or UGA, though we adjusted against UGA and were better as the game went on obviously. State's running game will be a good challenge. If Fehoko is out, it will be an even bigger challenge. I think LSU's D is starting to come together though.
