On a side note - @ Michigan. How sad is it to be the butt of jokes for a once proud program ( albeit with a lot of the pride being misplaced and based on mediocrity at times)
First of all, frick you man.
Second, they're on their way back. They have a legit shot to win 10 this year. Hoke is also a hell of recruiter. OSU being in trouble has really opened up Ohio. Brady is gonna win big at Michigan.

And this thread was going so well.

Barrett Jones did a great acting job as the bumbling bad guy sidekick in Boy Meets World and the movie where Seth Green is looking for DB Cooper's treasure with the guy from Scream.

Good post. Another thing I've noticed about Hightower is that he seems pretty intelligent. That will serve him well in the pros.

Can't this be said about any good coach?
Sure it can...does it make it true, though?

I have no like/dislike with Michigan so if you are a fan then bully for you I suppose. It is a fact however that they are among the have-been teams for the past many seasons (with a blip or two).
Michigan is definitely climbing but not to where it was before. It is more inclined to follow the path of past powers like ND, Nebraska and co. having some good seasons, B1G title, but not really winning NCs.

They will win a few before Hoke leaves.

I'm not seeing it. I could be wrong, but it's hard enough to win one as it is.

I still wish he would just loosen up a bit. He seems far tighter than everyone else and in some of his interviews you can tell he's forcing himself to try to appear a bit more loose. At one point Renaldi asked him "how uptight are you?" and he puts his hands up in a defensive position and says "I'm not uptight!".
Take a close look at Saban's demeanor on any non football related question. It changes instantly. Like when he was asked what music was on his radio. I have noticed this on a few interviews or clips he has done with local media over the years. he will go almost jovial discussing music or off football topics but once an X's or O's or football philosophy question hits it's back to serious buisness mode.
CalTiger your attitude towards several traditional football powers is laughable. It's very similiar to that of alot of Auburn fans in regards to Alabama during the lean years of probation and poor coaching. Tradition doesnt go away over night. Winning is a culture and it doesnt change in a decade, it takes gernerations. Alot of Auburn fans in Alabama had no concept of this because they had no personel referance or experience to go by. They thought that just because BAMA had a few down years they were done. They underestimated the power of tradition or "winning" culture. Tradition and winning the likes of the Nebraskas, Michigans, ND's and BAMA's is what some people term "Old Money". Your attitude is very much that of "New Money". Take Miami University for example. They didnt know how to handle success or "earn money". They had a good run but when the "loto Money" was spent up by the late nineties and the swag wore off they faded away. Alot of us "old money" fans look at LSU as "new money" like it or not. LSU has been on the national scene only since Nick got there. Before then it was the fifties before LSU was briefly in the discussion. Alot of LSU fans like to think it isnt true that only the nineties were bad for LSU but thats the facts. I'm not saying LSU didnt have competitive football teams or didnt have some great conference championship caliber seasons but if you debate the teams of the decades from the sixties through the nineties LSU is not in the discussion. Your like those Auburn fans, you underestimate the power of "old money" because you have no reference. Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio St and others who are down (we're talking 1 - 3 loss teams being down)will be back because thats what they demand. "New Money" programs will sit back when their run is over and say "it was a good run". Some of us are wondering what LSU will do if the run hits a valley. You gonna be BAMA and demand excellence or you gonna be Miami and talk about the good ole days.
