The lack of Aggys in this thread is very telling.

This whole thing has reminded me of Nutt's switch to Ole Miss. Ole Miss fans reveled, experienced short-term success. Arkansas fans were somewhat bothered, but none were too disappointed by the incoming Coach. Nobody else cared. 4 years later both schools were irrelevant again. Neither had the same head coach. And still nobody else cared.

They have a tall defensive mountain to climb, so they (rightfully) should hope that Chavis can resolve their issue.
Fun fact:
In the last contest between LSU and TAMU, LSU piled up 384 yards rushing. Since TAMU entered the conference, in three games they have rushed for a COMBINED 353 yards against LSU.
They are desperate for a defense that can be better than that. I think Chavis improves them, but whether it is enough to impact their record or standing in the SEC is an open question.

I bet they're stroking their dongs to a picture of Reville whooping that they got us.
Too bad that Chavis' scheme's weakness is a power running game.

Once lsu wins 8 games my happiness scale is maxed out. So unless Chablis leaving causes lsu to win less than 8 games I have no grief

Chavis is a good DC, good luck this year. Can you stop being so lame about this? You are 0-4 over the last 4 years and now you act like Chavis going to aTm is like Saban taking over at Bama. It's not the same thing. He is a huge upgrade from the trash that you have had but Steele/O are a big upgrade on the recruiting side for us. Plus our DLine development has been trash since Brick Haley came on board and fully expect improvement on the front line with O.
On the flip side, what happens if you D is at the bottom of the SEC again this year?

yeah, they think A&M's defense getting significantly better with Chavis is mutually exclusive with LSU's defense getting significantly worse without him. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way. It's a logical fallacy

What I think is funny is that A&M's coaching staff has identified that to win they have to play more like LSU. They want LSU's defensive scheme, and they adjusted their offensive staff to become better at running the ball. Basically, Sumlin has determined that to have LSU results and prestige, A&M needs to be more like . . . well you know the rest.

I think you and many others are taking my OP out of context. I have no idea how much better our defense will be, but I am reasonably confident that Chavis is an upgrade from Sny_er.
I just find it interesting how the narrative has changed over time with the majority of LSU fans. I like LSU. I have one entire side of my family that attended school there. The change in narrative from LSU fans over the past several months is so similar to the five stages of grief...it's uncanny.

it probably will be is the thing. They don't have the personnel to field a top defense yet and don't seem to be doing anything about it on the recruiting trail, and Chavis sure isn't going to help out in that regard. Having Miles Garrett is great but not when you have no one to compliment him. It's not hard for good teams to take one player out of a game

y'all have done these before, i just think your time tables are way off. there was not that much time between stage 2 and 3- it was like flipping a switch and boom.

Kind of hard to take a troll thread out of context dumbass.

As Chavis always said at LSU, tradition never graduates. LSU's football tradition is having a ferocious defense. Aggies' football tradition is "next year"
