What was wrong with him?
Coaching, recruiting what?

Not good. Also can't close on recruits consistently

Ha, thought I remembered LSU fans hating him

Baked beans and cole slaw come to mind.
You just need peveto and chavis and you've got yourself one hell of a BBQ.

Stay the frick away.
He is a mediocre recruiter.
And when he did get the stud players, he couldn't coach em up at all.
Danielle Hunter was a freak, had like 2 1/2 career sacks at LSU. He's got 9 sacks for the Vikings this year.

For some reason when Haley was at LSU the majority of the fans thought he was a great coach. Seems like every time a coach leaves they're automatically shitty coaches

...could have been better....

I'm not a Bama fan you dummy. My name is I Hate Bama
And PLENTY of people thought that. I'm not just imagining that.

Sacks issue was more part of Chavis defense style imho

He was pretty good for awhile but, like Chavis, tailed off dramatically in 2013 and 2014.

We thought he was good at first, then over time we realized he couldn't recruit for shite or develop his own players.
We all thought Cameron was the shite too after 2013. Eventually we realized what was up.

Brick put a lot of dlinemen in the NFL. His recruiting did fall off terribly his last couple seasons

He was the beneficiary of LSU talent. He was John Chavis's homeboy and now he is jobless.
Probably a good hire for Mizz though

Couldn't do anything honestly. Not a good coach nor a good recruiter. Dude was pretty much useless.

Isn't a Pete Jenkins disciple. His recruits have zero technique once they hit campus. Their inability to use their hands to beat blocks and keep lineman off of them was mesmerizing.
He threw Hail Marys in recruiting every year with these long shot, pie in the sky types. Landed 1 every 3 seasons or so.
Perfect example of this is Danielle Hunter. Great eval on the kid coming out of Texas, but in four years on campus (3 on the field after a redshirt) he finished with 4.5 sacks.
I repeat: 4.5 sacks in 3 years.
This guy finished with 33% more than that as an NFL Rookie. As a 2nd year pro, he has 9.5 with 4 games to go. It's a testament to what the kid learned when he found a an adequate teacher.
Orgeron doubled our sack totals from Brick's last year to 2015. It was Night and day. We are far more productive and active under Orgeron.
