If I remember correctly, Ole Miss was the last team to get in and they won it all. Not saying LSU will do that, but anything can happen once the regionals start.

Have to get to a regional first ... that requires LSU to do something they haven't all year long. Win, and win a lot

I agree with you there. It won't be easy for LSU, but if we can get our bats going, we can make noise. It starts this weekend. We are in a must sweep situation against a bad Auburn team at home.

LSU IMO has a better chance against A&M than they do at Alabama. They basically have to sweep everyone else, which is a tall order in the SEC

Sweep Auburn
2/3 Ole Miss
2/3 Alabama
1/3 A&M

That gets LSU to 13-17. 13-17 in the SEC would get an NCAAT bid. If you think LSU's chances are better against A&M, switch them and Alabama. But the above is essentially what LSU needs to do to get into the NCAAT. I'm not overly confident they will or can do that, but that is their current path.

There have been a few teams in the SEC (most recently Alabama in 2021) get in with just 12 SEC wins, but I def wouldn't feel great about LSU's chances finishing at 12-18.

I’m just glad we finally got a series win. Hopefully the team builds on it and finishes the season strong. Maybe have a good showing in a regional.

Threads like this never backfire on the fan of the team who started the thread.

Doesn't aTm go to Alex Box next weekend?

LSU has also never made a good run before in a season, never happens

We've definitely taken our licks in the first part of conference play, but the schedule lets up a lot to close out outside of A&M who we still get at home and are more than capable of winning a series against. We had a close series @ Arkansas even though we lost all 3 games. It's not a terrible team, but it is a team that has struggled to find a way to win SEC games. Any team can get it figured out at any point. Knowing our past, some type of run wouldnt surprise me to close out the season on the lighter schedule. If we can get to 13-17 in conference play, we have a decent shot of making it in. There's also the SECT to get an auto-bid, we often arent in any need of playing hard in SECT, but this time we likely will be, assuming we get there by putting Auburn firmly behind us and either Missouri or Ole Miss as well.

I know A&M fans have been insufferable lately, but let's not forget how much of a pain in the arse LSU fans were the entirety of the 2023 baseball season.

I have already said that LSU has a better shot against A&M at LSU (you may be freaking terrible, but will want that series) than you do at Alabama. Alabama has been great at home this year, and they have way better hitting than LSU does.

It wouldn't surprise me at all for LSU to beat A&M. We lost to the only other terrible team we played earlier in the year ;)

Nope, but it's been a blast from opening season till April watching them accomplish what they have. I'm going to enjoy every single game until the season is over

LSU hasn't won back-to-back conference games all season long.

which is why I said literally right after that i'm not confident they can or will do any of that. I'm very aware of what LSU has done (or hasn’t done) this year. Laying out what their path is isn't me saying they're going to do any of it.

This won't backfire at all.

Fun fact: neither LSU nor A&M has ever swept the other in a series.

Every time a Texas A$M fan posts about LSU baseball and tries to make it into a troll post, my mind automatically goes back to the 1989 Regionals in College Station where LSU ended A&M's 58-5 season to 58-7.

I expect to lose to LSU. I have said as much. However, how awesome would it be for A&M to be responsible for LSU not getting to the Regionals? That would be pretty great.

What would be great is to end up winning enough to make a regional. What would be even better is to be sent to the a&m regional and send the aggies home. THAT would be a great season.
