Here are Tyler Wilson's stats from a little over 2 quarters of play in the Auburn game this year (Tyler Wilson is the backup quarterback at Arkansas):
CMP ATT YDS CMP% LNG TDs INTs QB Rating
25 34 332 73.5 54 4 2 182.61
He didn't play much this year besides that game.

If the staff can haul in a couple of JUCO o-linemen like Aaron Douglas and Jacob Fahrenkrug the hogs should be top 10 easily. But since preseason rankings are more about media hype and the most in-depth any preseason preview is going to get is MALLETT'S GONE i'm gonna guess:
Bama 3
LSU 7
Arkansas 20
Switch LSU and Bama and that's probably as close as you're going to be.
Lets be honest, the national media doesn't have any agenda for Arkansas to be good. Not a big enough total media base which means a smaller amount of subscriptions, etc. to be sold. I guarantee the media will over blow Mallett and 3 O-Lineman leaving, as they should. Tyler Wilson wouldn't have been able to squeeze that first touchdown to Cobi against LSU and the O-line is all about chemistry, experience, and especially communication. I do think Wilson will put up better numbers than Mallett, but stats don't mean trophies.

People who think wilson just had good stats because he was playing auburn didn't watch the game. He was on fire. But I'll say:
LSU: 6
Arkansas: 8
Bama: 11
LSU: 6
Arkansas: 8
Bama: 11

Why is Arky's back up QB considered so good? All he did was torch Auburn's terrible pass defense.

Because everyone that has followed him from high school to practice to his PT in games that didn't include mop up duty know how he plays and how he contrasts Mallett.
Tyler is a very cerebral QB, in that he is very good at checking through reads. Anyone that has watched Mallett play, especially last year, knew his thought process went something like this...
"First option running a go....
He's double covered...
Challenge accepted...
#15 up in dis bitch!"
Not dogging him because he has the cannon to make it work, but it lead to alot of incompletions and stalled drives, especially last year. That's why I'm so confident in Petrino. If he can coach someone as cocky as Mallett, he can coach anybody.

Next year will be year 4 in Petrino's system for Wilson, and he is very accurate with plenty of arm strength.
